"These are by far the worst apartments in the state of Louisiana. They are poorly staffed, incompetent and cruel. One month into living in these apartments my entire apartment was flooded, ruining clothing, food etc. I wasn't compensated only given a "sorry" no one came by to fix the repairs I've had because of it and I'm currently still residing in a molded unit. They've moved new tenants in nearby unit but when I asked to move none of the units are available. I reached out to Regional Vice President and this was the response: Hi Stephanie, 'Thank you for reaching out regarding your experience. I apologize your apartment was flooded. Unfortunately, these things can happen when living in close quarters with others which is why we always recommend that our renters get renters insurance. The insurance, obtained by the renter, would reimbursed the renter any damages to their personal property. I understand that you are a new move in and this was a very frustrating experience. Having excessive belongings on the floor, in the kitchen etc. made this more of a challenge for all involved. Please understand, the on-site team did everything they could to get your apartment back to its normal state as fast as possible. Repairs to your apartment were completed yesterday and I hope the remaining time you spend at Boardwalk is a pleasant experience. Two days ago the deadbolt jammed and because Boardwalk doesn't have emergency locksmiths I had to pay out of pocket $100 and I just got word that I won't reimbursed at all when it's their cheap door. I am frustrated and angry at how 1st Lake has handled me in both situations"

"Apartments have mold, unclean carpet area, appliances falling apart please don't move here. 8/2 RESPONSE to their response: You don't have even manager and your lead maintenance man is quitting this week. How would you know anything?"

"Ugh the prior reviews are outdated clearly, please do not let them run you away from an amazing community and home. Yes I'm a resident but goodness, the staff is AMAZING! LIKE HONESTLY! For me to post, you know its real lol lol lol. My daughter loves it here as well do I. We're close to literally like everything you can dream of from this location, very quiet. Walls are not thin. And if you get a pool view you're surely winning , I know I am. I love my new home. Very ideal and practical for any size family, single parents, newly weds list goes on truly. I've gotten to greet all of my neighbors love them all, very welcoming and friendly. The the fact you need a key to get on the property via walking or car is a major plus very secure very quiet lovely grounds,... no I wasn't asked t write this review nor paid. Its my true input. Bug free home, maintenance is speedy like truly."

"I currently live here and It’s a very quiet and nice place to live for your first time moving, close to a lot of restaurants and the mall. I do not recommend anyone stay longer than a year! Traffic is okay! There are more cons than pros. Maintenance halve step everything. The walls start the turn, random bathroom floods, roof leakage. Also there’s a new lady in the office she doesn’t take her job serious enough for me; neighbors complain about the smallest things such as dogs barking, washing machines, thin walls.etc. they need to work on the Limited parking spaces as well! I can go on for hours!"

"I have lived here for over 6 years and had a great experience overall. Management and maintenance have been good and responsive. Management and maintenance have switched hands over the years, but 1st Lake Properties has been selective enough with their employees that I haven't had a problem with any of them. The location is good; 24hr CVS on the corner and easy access to Veteran's Blvd and the interstate. The neighborhood is good in the immediate vicinity, but there are some shady parts a few blocks away. Many years ago, the grounds used to be two separate apartment complexes, and the western apartments feel more dated than the stuff near the leasing office. The prices are reasonable for the area, and they don't resort to sketchy fees. Expect a steady, but fair, climb in rent at each lease renewal. Biggest negative: the walls and floors are too thin and you *will* hear your neighbors."
