Reviews of Polo Run Apartments
"I am not sure about others, but I generally had a good experience here. I was on the 3rd floor. Maintenance was always very responsive to repairs. The apartment was clean and bug free. I cleaned the apartment thoroughly before I left and got 100% of my deposit back. No games with the deposit. I take off one star because one morning as I was walking to get my mail I asked one of the overweight office managers a question as I passed by. She gave me an attitude and said she can't talk to me now because she has to watch the pool guy clean the pool. Also, they did charge $30-$50 bucks (I can't remember) for the pool key, but they should give that back when the pool key is returned but I don't think they did. It is fairly quiet complex. Someone did hit my car one night and left a dent and didn't bother leaving a note, but that's not the managements fault. Ample parking too. Overall though, I thought it was a good experience living there and I would do it again if I am ever in the area as it was a good price too It's a fairly quiet complex and I thought a good price for the living conditions. I left in June 2023 and was there for about 1 year. Response to owners' reply: If she was in a situation that needed to be addressed right away, she could have been nicer and said, "I am sorry but can we talk later, I am busy at the moment." Instead, she snapped at me with irritation and attitude, and said, "I can't talk to you right now because I have to watch the pool guy." What is the pool guy going to do that needs to be watched? Fear he is going jump into the pool or break or steal something? Come on. It was clear from her attitude she just didn't want to talk to me or answer a quick question. Very poor attitude, it's not how I respond to strangers even when I am pre-occupied much less if they were a tenant. Manners have gone out the windows now a days and everybody has an excuse for poor behavior instead of just apologizing. Also, if it was to enjoy the view of the pool guy, all she had to do was look at me as I may be biased but I think it would have been more enjoyable to see my handsome face and smile."
"WORST APARTMENTS ever. Especially the 2 old white lady’s in the office. Be careful because if you’re black they probably won’t like you . DONT rent here! They make up lies , Apartments fall apart within a year of living there. Roach infested. If I could give 0 stars I would!!!"
"I normally do not do reviews because I could care less but I had to write review on this place. Worst apartment complex I’ve ever stayed at. I definitely should not have signed a lease with polo run apartments."
"TOO MANY BAD REVIEWS - STAY AWAY FROM TONTI MANAGEMENT To make a long story short. If you read down the reviews I had a very similar experience to Chloe. I applied, did my own calculations on financial matters and figured I should be ok with rental costs at this particular location. Then got declined for what I feel like were trivial matters and there was no alternatives offered. Wish I had read all the reviews first....it would have saved me time and aggravation. For security reasons, I have never used or established credit and keep it 'locked' and with good reason. Clearly, identity theft these days is getting out of hand, and even major government organizations can no longer be trusted! By now, everyone knows the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles had a MAJOR security breach and EVERY citizen in the database is at risk of having their identity stolen. Besides the security risk, having a credit rating simply means you know how to LIVE LIFE IN DEBT or not. Call me old school, but I don't believe in debt......if I can't afford it I don't buy it. Regardless, there are other ways to determine if a rental applicant is capable of paying rent.....details like the fact that I owned my own house for ten years and sold it for a profit, more than sufficient, steady income to pay rent, years on the job with the same company, clean background check etc, etc, etc. That being said, the leasing agent indicated that I didn't have 3 x the rent in annual gross income. I didn't want to argue but clearly the leasing agents at Tonti had trouble with math in grade school....that is, if they even went to grade school. Income: 38,000K Gross annual (Not including Bonuses) Rent: 860 per month x 12 = 10,320K yearly rent. 38,000K divided by 10320 = 3.68 times It feels like they were 'discriminating against me' for NOT being up to my butt in debt. Fact of the matter is, they had no reason to reject my application....but you know what? I'm glad they did. There are far better apartments out there with leasing agents that have equally better judgement."
"This entire experience has been extremely disappointing (and continues to be so). I should have taken the first red flag as a warning and ran. I called and asked for information on availabilities and was spoken to very rudely over the phone and not offered a tour. I was questioned on my eligibility and basically told "Bye" afterwards with no follow up. I called again and scheduled a tour with someone else when someone else answered the phone. I immediately turned in the application after my tour, which took me until about 4:30 (they close at 5) but was told that was fine to do. The lady in the back office told me I needed an appointment to do so despite being initially told that I could come at any time before 5. After my boyfriend and I had submitted our applications, we were told we needed to pay double deposit due to our lack of rental history and our relatively young credit (we are 22 and 23, so just starting off). However, we both have well paying jobs that proved that we were fully capable of paying rent. After paying over $1000 in deposits, we were told we were approved. I was told power needed to be turned on, proof of renter's insurance was needed, and I had also scheduled internet installation. Less than a week before my move in date, I was told that we were no longer eligible. Now I am left without a place to live and no other options due to my deposit still not being returned. This experience has been heartbreaking and extremely frustrating. I was very confused because the story continues to switch up, being told different reasons as to why we are not eligible. Based on other reviews, it seems like I'm not the first person that has had this experience. Don't waste your time with this unprofessional staff."
