Reviews of Jefferson Lakes Apartments
"First off, let’s address the biggest issue with these apartments- the aggressive, severe, uncontrollable roach infestation that they have. We wash and dry and put away every dish as we’re using them. We immediately have to put away cooked food because of them. It doesn’t matter if you are the cleanest person on the planet, you will have roaches. Even if you never move any furniture or anything else in your apartment, you will have them. They were permanent residents and management doesn’t care whatsoever. What they need is a serious fumigation not some pathetic quarterly spraying. Sometimes we don’t even get that honestly. You turn on a light and they all go scurrying. They’re walking around during the day while people are moving around. That’s how you know it’s a serious infestation. Secondly, the car break ins is insane. These people go around pulling on door handles and if you were unlucky enough to have left your vehicle unlocked, you’re going to have it gone through. There is no maybe. You WILL. There’s drug addicts, drug dealers, homeless people, thieves, gang members, and everything else back here. This place is no different than the projects because it is the ghetto. Out of all of them, the addicts are probably the most pesky and annoying. All day you see them walking around looking for stuff to steal. Most of them squat in vacant apartments to do their drugs and once again management does not care. There’s even people back here living in their cars, doing drugs. This isn’t the place for someone who has kids. This isn’t the place for the elderly. This apartment complex is DANGEROUS and needs a complete overhaul. They don’t fix anything. One of my neighbors has had their front window broken for 2 months. She has to stuff pillows in the window to keep the cold out. That’s ridiculous! Jefferson lakes used to be a really nice place to live. I lived here back in 2012. It was great. People walking near the lake, kids playing in the pool, the playground full of laughter, people feeding seeds to the geese. Now? All you see outside are grown men and woman, up to no good with guns on their hips. Even the geese got the heck out of here. Do. Not. Move. Here. I don’t care if you are desperate with nowhere to go. TRY to find something else."
"ROACHES EVERYWHERE. In every building and every apartment. They are absolutely everywhere and it doesn’t matter how clean you are, you will have roaches in your apartment if you move here. Do not move here if that bothers you because I’m letting you know now, they will be in your bedroom, your bathroom, your kitchen, even in your microwave. This apartment complex is infested and they have the AUDACITY to charge a $70 late fee for rent. On top of that, there are NO lights in the parking lot and haven’t been for months and months. If you ever make the mistake of forgetting to lock your car, you will wake up to your car being open and rummaged through. Do not keep anything worth any kind of value in your vehicle. My first week here my car was already broken into. They threw my stuff everywhere, broke my glove box, and left both my back doors open because I’m guessing they were scared to close them. There’s shootings and murders back here as well. Just a couple of weeks ago there was a shooting. These apartments used to be extremely nice and then they allowed trash human beings from the ghetto to move in here and now it is the ghetto. It’s only going to keep getting worse and worse. Funny how these kind of people that ruin an entire community ALWAYS are the pickiest and want the nicest they can find. For what? So you can tear it up and devalue it? There is also a homeless people problem here. There’s homeless people who live in their cars, parking in your spot for DAYS. They go inside of empty apartments and live in them doing drugs until management finally rents the apartment out. Then they just move to another empty one. They just walk around the complex looking on people's porches and in their cars for something to steal. My grandmother has had her packages stolen from in front of her door so many times. In broad daylight so imagine how they get down at night. Do not move here. Do not be fooled by the model apartment they show for tours. This is the HOOD. It’s infested with bugs. And it’s dangerous to be here. Period."
"I would give 0 stars if I could. When I went to tour with Meylin, she said the unit was ready to move in all I had to do was apply. I asked them if my income would be a problem because it was probably over the maximum. I told them exactly how much made and she assured me it wasn't an issue at all. I was very clear that I only had 2 weeks to move out of my place and they asked for the deposit up front. Which was odd, but it seemed almost too good of a deal to be true. The application takes 2-3 weeks and they waited a week after receiving my paystubs and deposit to come back and tell me that my income (which they already knew about) was too high for that unit and they all of a sudden didn't know if they even had a unit for me. They said they would let me know by the next week. I said I couldn't wait to find out if they even had anything available because I had already lost a week waiting for the application to be submitted and had to be moved out in just over a week. The first time I called to speak to a manager the agent hung up on me and then set the phone to automated voicemail so I couldn't call back. When I asked for my deposit back through email (for a unit that they didn't even know if they had) so I could go apply elsewhere they told me it would take 30 days to give it back. It's funny how they deposited it before even making sure that they had a unit for me,yet they need a month to get it back. This is my deposit money for any apartment I apply to and they're just holding it, meanwhile I have to be out of my place in 9 days, have nowhere to go, and no deposit to give anyone because of their pure greediness and intentional misleading"
"This apartment Complex is a rip off. I moved in this place 3.5 hours away from my home town with all of my belongings on a uhaul. I did everything over a phone and had a friend do a walk through for me only to find out that it was one of the model apt.'s. Once I made it in town to move in the apartment was infested with roaches. I would not take my belongings off of the uhaul until the pest problem was taken care of which meant I had to pay for 2 extra days for the rental. Fast forward the pest problem was taken control of but lets not talk about the air conditioning problem and how long it takes for maintenance to actually work on the these outdated units. The only good thing about this apartment was the school that was accessible to my kids "Parkview Elementary". Fast forward to a few years later I have been from out of this apartment for years, I go look at my credit score and I've been charged for a cleaning fee and I have proof that I did indeed clean it! SORRIEST APARTMENTS EVER!!!!!!!"
"DON'T EVER MOVE HERE!!! They continue to say that I owe a balance on my apt when I have NEVER missed a payment. Section 8 didn't pay their payment back in 2018 because the maintenance people didn't fix everything in the apartment. I received a letter from Section 8 that said I was NOT responsible for housings portion of the return. I gave the office numerous copies but yet they still charging me late fees, etc. They don't know what they doing in the office. They never fix anything and when they do come they just rush through it and then it's broke again. WORSE APTS EVER!!!"
