Reviews
"Update on 3/7/2024: I am changing my review to 4 stars because the property manager, Collin, reached out to me and discussed a lot of my concerns and what Wildwood is doing to change them. Going out of his way to contact me and also my friends whom I mentioned in my review means a lot to me as a resident. I feel way more comfortable with Wildwood, knowing they are trying to make changes for all of their residents. I definitely will be giving 5 stars if the wifi issue is fixed, and am waiting to see the follow through, but right now everything looks very promising. Again, I appreciate Collin going out of his way to inform me of what's going on and makes me trust Wildwood way more than I did previously. Update on 2/6/24: The wifi is out yet again on Midterms week, when it quite literally just went out 2/29/24, hasn’t even been a week. Paying 800+ dollars for all day outages, plus there was 2 other outages in December in addition to the picture I added. Literally can’t make this up. Wildwood hosts events saying theyll give out free food or things in exchange for 5 star reviews which is why you see a ton of them in one sitting if you have the ‘Recent’ filter on. Also you can only move the thermostat 71-74, due to their built in utilities package, like we are 3rd graders or something. This is my second year living here and it has gotten SO much worse this second year compared to the first. I have friends that moved here for this year and for some odd reason one never received a tub stopper and has been asking for WEEKS for one and the other ones room smells like sewage and has since she has moved in and Wildwood basically tells her they can’t do anything about it. Please don’t pay the absolutely absurd amount Wildwood is asking you to pay, this is my 2nd year here and I can confidently say this place the one thing Wildwood has been consistent at is getting worse every month. Please please don’t pay the absolutely delusional rent they are asking for; it’s a bearable place but make this place your very very VERY last option. You’re paying way too much for too many issues. (Also funny how wildwood in the replies to bad comments says to reach out at their number but since they updated the wifi I have maybe gotten in contact with someone ONCE out of the dozens of calls i’ve made)"
"The amount of times the wifi goes out is unreal, and when the wifi is on it’s very slow. Which is insane for a majority student living complex, where students need to study and do assignments. It once was out completely for 2 days. There has also been no communication about why it keeps happening or if something is being done."
"So here’s my problem with this place: it’s nice and the amenities are nice but my problem is with property management. I find it weird they don’t have single bed apartments but that’s neither here nor there. They have left me homeless on TWO occasions and nothing is ever fixed or acceptable when you’re ready to move in. I once overheard a girl complain about there being mold in her apartment and it not being taken care of, the gate is always broken (which has led to cars being broken into), and maintenance always seems to gaslight me when I tell them something isn’t working. I moved into a new unit this year and had no water pressure, no towel rack, and chewed up furniture. None of the lights worked in the living room and we have had numerous bug infestations. They are labeled “student housing” but the WiFi literally goes down every two weeks and that not an exaggeration. And it’s down for DAYS not just a couple hours. The property manager is never around, doesn’t answer emails or phone calls, and dodges everyone’s questions and never seems to have an answer. They raised the rent exponentially and only gave you three days to renew otherwise they were going to keep raising it, which is illegal. So someone in the same unit as you could be paying twice as much for the same space because they didn’t renew in time. This is definitely not worth close to $1000 I can tell you that. This place is literally run by children through no fault of their own, but take the brunt of everyone’s complaints because, again, the property manager is no where to be found and is unreachable. They are constantly lying about units being available so they can pressure you into renewing. If you’re just looking for a roof over you’re head go for it, but if you’re looking for somewhere to stay long term, look somewhere"
"While the apartment itself is not bad at all, it is absolutely ridiculous how horrible the wifi and payment has been recently. Our internet has went out for the entire day (once 2 days) 6+ times now, with this consistently happening almost bi-weekly at this point, it is obvious that management has absolutely no interest in fixing this and purely cares about there profit. Adding to this, in the month of December we could not pay through the website, incurring late fees if we somehow cannot pay in person, during winter break while 90% of people are out of town and home with there family, while I will say the amenities are fantastic and I am personally a huge fan of the apartment, it is not fair to the residents at all to have these problems continue to persist."
"To start off, the wifi is currently out as I am writing this out, and ever since they “updated” the wifi, it has been out at least 4 times since the November 2nd upgrades, with one of those days being on Finals week, arguably the most vital day to have wifi. One of these outage days (which seem to be a biweekly thing at this point) it was out for 2 days. I have been living here the past 2 years, and the quality of these apartments have gone down exponentially. I understand it is “student living”, so I am not expecting a penthouse, but the fact of the matter is for us paying 700+ dollars I should expect to have basic amenities such as wifi. Their “full utilities” package, (which I was told on tour they would not adjust), only allows you to go as low as 71 and as high as 74. Why offer a full utilities package if you are going to take away the customer's choice? Their phone lines have also been down since they upgraded, so the only way you can contact them is through email (they do not answer), or callback (only have ever received one callback). On December 20th, they informed the residents that the payment portal would be shut down from the 26th of December to the 11th of January, and the only way we could make payments was through money order or cashiers check. Convenient how the portal is down when rent needs to be paid. They also completely shut off the water without telling any of their residents on December 15th, and it took 30 minutes for an email to be sent out. It was a short amount of time which I am thankful for, but why not tell your residents in advance so they can prepare for it? I can give credit where credit is due, and their actual amenities such as the clubhouse, gym and pool are very nice, and their maintenance guy, Ray, is great. When moving in, the apartment was relatively OK (which is bare minimum but you would be surprised). The apartment itself is a great starter apartment, but do yourself or your child a favor and don’t go to any complexes on Ben Hur/Burbank, instead go to a private landlord and buy your own furniture, so you can not feel like you’re just a number to these gargantuan student housing companies who view you as a number and a wallet."
