Mrs. Hamm with Remax Excel was an easy choice for us. She took the the time, sat down with us, explained everything and answerd any questions we had. Mrs. Hamm took on our house to manage for us when we left the area 7 years ago. Mrs. Hamm screened prospective tenants, placed qualified tenants and collected rent. If any repairs were needed she clearly communicated what the issue was/were. She obtained estimates for repairs, provided them to us for approval. Walk through inspections provided and pictures sent to us of the walk through. Communication is TOP notch. It was time to SELL! Mrs. Hamm got our house ready to hit the market for us as we were no longer local. She did the final walk through, made her assessment, recommended what needed to be done and provided each recommendation with estimates . We then were able to choose all, some or none of the recommendations. When our house hit the market, we were under contract within 7 days. And she made a 21 day close happen. She made sure everything that was needed to close was done. I promise you, this is the easiest decision to make. Hire Mrs.Hamm of Remax Excel"

"Bottom line up front: Good organization, good people, rent seems fair, and NOT based on BAH for the area. As of the date of this review, I have had a very good experience with this real estate company. They are the property manager for the house I rent. They are very easy to work with as far as maintenance requests. My experience with a lot of property managers that I've rented through, is that they can be very bureaucratic, and difficult. I've rented my home through RE/MAX Excel since 2017, and have had no issues so far. They are family run, very nice people, and seem to genuinely care about the people they. They are knowledgeable about the history of the homes they sell, or rent, and the neighborhoods and subdivisions that they are in. As far as I can tell, my rent is based on the property value, and not Fort Polk area BAH."

"If I could put no stars I would. They are not good people to deal with, any thing to make a quick buck. Had to move due to military orders, in the middle of the month. Would not do a walk thru, charge us for 125 house cleaning, 30 water to clean house and 26.78 for electricity to clean house. 125 for landscaping. I cut the grass before I left, you would have know this is would have keep your word about looking at the house the next week. How are you going to charge me for water and electricity, I paid my bills directly to the water company and electricity company. I was no longing living there??? Very unprofessional called Candance numerous times once I left couldn't get her on the phone once to discuss our security deposit or whether or not Candance keep her word. I would not recommend them to anyone"

"Too bad there is not an option for a NO star rating for this place. By far the worst people I have ever had to deal with. I rented a property for a year with Remax in DeRidder and had nothing but issues and problems from this so called "property management/real estate company". Multiple repairs needed to be conducted throughtout my stay and they would never answer their emergency telephone number and it would take them days to return a call. Once contact was finally made, it was at least a week before any progress was made to get the repairs done. I even had to leave the house for 12 days because it was unlivable due to repairs which should have only taken 3 days, with zero reimbursement. Even though the month's rent was paid in full and I had to pay extra for a hotel room. But these issues weren't the worst of it. They attempted to change the lease from a one year lease to a 25 month lease and tried to hold me to that term, even though the lease stated one year. The only thing that changed their mind on this "binding agreement" position was a letter from my attorney stating what they were doing was illegal. Once my attorney politely reminded them of Louisiana State Law, only then, did they do what was right and keep it as a one year lease as it should have been from the beginning. I could go on and on about different instances but am trying to keep this short. Bottom line, this is a dirty family owned company where every family member is crooked. By far, the most dishonest and deceitful, non military friendly company I have ever dealt with. Whether buying, renting, or any other real estate dealings, I would steer clear of these people. Would never recommend Remax in Deridder or the Hamms to anyone. The owner even had to rate himself as a 5 Star business which should tell you something in itself."

"This Veteran owned Real estate company will find any way to make a quick dollar from fort polk military/veterans. They should be ashamed of themselves. They do not possess morals nor social responsibility. They pro-rate the rent coming in but when you terminate the lease they will charge you the ENTIRE MONTHs RENT. Mr. Hamm, which by the way reviewed himself with a 5 star rating of all people should know that Soldiers receive orders with many different reporting dates but yet they will not pro-rate. We had the lawn cut on 23 October 3 days before we left they post the house on the market 4 December and grass is freshly cut. No problem except that they deducted the lawn care fee from our deposit as well. These lazy agents kept a portion of our security deposit because they waited to post the house on the market and take fresh pictures. Well obviously the grass grew by no fault of anyone but they still chose to charge us for it. They don’t answer calls and takes weeks before they respond. We advised them in writing that we will be vacating our home one month in advance and even with a request they did not do a pre inspection prior to our departure. We left the house and premises in excellent condition, clean, and the yard freshly cut and maintained. I will never recommend or use this company again!"
