"I've gone to this office for over 5 years as my "primary care physician". 5 years I've not had a problem with this office. In fact, I've referred this office to many people because of how happy I was there. THEN, they get this new Dr. She decided she will no longer refill my meds. (blood pressure, diabetic, acid reflux). Said she refused to write one because "I need to go to my GI to get my acid reflux medication. Pay a $50 copay to get my medicine refilled. Whatever, I needed it. Went to my gastro Dr and he was so mad that I was sent there to waste my money like that. After all said and done, I went to fill my medicine at the pharmacy. Seems she did in fact write the script for my acid reflux but didn't fill my blood pressure medicine. SHE WROTE THE WRONG PRESCRIPTION! Says "I don't know how I did that". Ummmm good question. The front staff is something else. They ask, in front of of everyone, what I'm there to see the Dr about and get an attitude if you say, I'll just talk to the Dr about it. When the Dr wrote the wrong prescription, I went in to see if I could get just a paper prescription to bring to the pharmacy, they told me they can only do it over the phone (yet they refuse to call in meds any other time.) I asked when they would call it in, so I know when to head to the pharmacy. They say they are calling it in Immediately. I asked 3 different times... What does immediately mean to you, right now, 5 mins, 30 mins.... They say right now, immediately. I get to the pharmacy, they hadn't called it in. I wait 10 mins, still haven't called it in. I call Health Remedy back and asked if they called it in yet. I was told "Ma'am, you have 3 people in front of you in the waiting room. Do you seriously expect to skip them all?" I will never recommend this place to anyone ever again."
"This review is specifically about the office manager of the Walker location of HEALTHremede on Vera McGowan Rd. I was torn picking a star rating because the other staff have been lovely, but she's the office manager & has more influence over how things are conducted so I settled on 2 stars. TLDR: If you are detail oriented and care about mistakes on your medical documentation or are the type of person that asks questions this is not the place for you. If the convenience of walk-in care is more important & you just go with the flow, nod and agree without questioning & don’t care about the details, this place may be just fine. Make your own judgment call. Details & Reason For Review: I had been issued a form for a handicap tag that had the wrong birth date on it, which matters because this is part of confirming identification with the OMV. I also asked about paperwork I submitted about genetic testing that the supervising doctor was supposed to look at & respond whether they would get set up to do that test. The lady at the desk, tells me the supervising doctor wouldn’t say yes. I figured she might be misunderstanding & clarified that it wasn’t specialized genetic testing, like a geneticist would do. It tests how you process medications, minimizes trial & error and side effects. I told her my children’s pediatrician uses the test, that Medicaid covers it. She replies with a condescending tone, “Yeah, no, they’re not gonna do that.” I am not a fan of assumptions or speaking on behalf of someone else, unless you have specific permission or are relaying their actual response. It irked me, but I let it go. As I signed my updated info form, I noticed it said I was acknowledging that I had been notified that they were NOT a primary care provider. I had been seeing them for exactly that, & there was a sign saying they were accepting new primary care patients. Confused, I read to her what was on the form and indicated the sign. The same lady goes, “Yeah, they just put that on there because we’re urgent care, but we also do primary care.” I replied, “But the form says I’m signing that I acknowledge that you aren’t primary care. Is someone updating the form?” She says, “Yeah, it’s been like that, it doesn’t matter.” Frustrated, my tone did get tight, but there was no raised voice, no yelling. I replied, “Actually, considering you’re asking me to sign this as legal document & will keep it on record it kinda does matter.” She escalates with, “Ma'am, you need to calm down.” Seeing this lady was beyond reason, I went back to my seat. I resigned myself, “I guess this will be my last visit here.” I wasn’t addressing her or even looking at her, more coming to realization that now I was going to have to go through the trouble of getting set up with new primary care. (When their leader is this lax how can I trust they’re following HIPPA privacy laws correctly or won't make more grievous errors in the future.) The lady escalates further saying, “Ma'am if you’re not going to respect us, then you need to leave.” I pointed out an error. I expressed (to myself) that I was unsatisfied enough with my service that I would in the future go elsewhere. I didn’t rant & rave or address other patients, there weren’t even any other patients there. (I wonder why...) I asked to see the office manager. (this lady’s people skills were abhorrent, but I had positive experiences before & wanted to give it one last try before switching to another office) She answers that she is the office manager. (The lady who isn’t detail oriented, who easily takes offense, makes assumptions, speaks for others, & jumps to conclusions, she’s running the office?) At this point I just wanted out of there. I asked for the form I signed back. She said, “No, I’m going to keep it because it’s ours.” Such an immature response, I was going elsewhere & I hadn’t received any service that day. Frustrated beyond belief I turned & promptly left. Good experiences before, but they lost the prior wonderful practitioner, & the office manager acts like this? Can't recommend."
"What a wonderful place! All the staff was amazing and great with my daughter. My daughter was very sick and hurting all over. Staff was very comforting and gentle with her. Way better than urgent care! Also this was our first time there and no appointment! We were seen immediately after filling out paperwork!"
"Terrible treatment!!! Staff doesn't know the definition of disrespectful, and since they decided to make masks mandatory again, the power trip is ridiculous. Was told to wait in my vehicle, then they blamed me when I was skipped over. I was parked on the side but the staff referred to that as the back so that was why they did not see my vehicle, apparently. The staff is very lazy and they weren't able to walk 5 steps to see us. Even went back in 3 times. Very disappointing. I will never go here again."
