"I've been going here for the past couple years, primarily to treat my type 2 diabetes, and have had a very positive experience up until the last couple weeks. After consulting with the NP just before Easter weekend we decided it was time for me to go on insulin after reviewing the results of my latest A1C. Those of you who have been there know this is a stressful change in treatment for diabetics and this stress was greatly exacerbated by the complete incompetence of the staff here handling my prescription. First off they didn't respond to the pharmacy's letting them know that my insurance had turned down the original prescription until I called directly to ask what was being done. After that they didn't call back to let me know the new approved prescription had been sent to the pharmacy and didn't even apologize when I called back a week later to inquire. Finally, when I picked up the insulin pens there were no needles and they hadn't even bothered to call them in. When I called back to ask about the needles they said they would handle it only to call in lancets and test strips to the pharmacy instead. At this point I've been to the pharmacy three times, called them four or five times, and now finally have what I need to begin my insulin treatment after over 2 weeks only thanks to the fact that the needles are available without a prescription. Let me reiterate this is my first time using insulin and I feel like I'm getting no support or help from the staff at all. In fact, when talking to one of them on the phone I could tell I was simply an inconvenience for her that day. I'll be looking for another PCP on my insurance. Unfortunately that means a longer trip to get to my appointments in the future but it will certainly save me time, gas money and trips to the pharmacy. One last thing...the NP I've seen here has always been attentive, kind and thorough during my visits and I don't believe she is in any way responsible for the failure of her staff on these matters."
