"So after sitting here 4hrs we are finally about to leave. I think, but guess what they DO NOT GIVE DOCTOR EXCUSES!! NOT FOR SCHOOL OR WORK!! Like I said before DONT EVER EVER EVER GO HERE! You wouldn't get the help you need, Doctor excuses or get out of the ER anytime soon. But if you want to be crazy then go ahead, but you can't say I didn't tell you."
"They take FOREVER!! I would understand if they were busy, but there not busy. There just sitting around and not working. I had to go and get my own pee cup because I waited 15mins and she never came back. Now I'm waiting on xray because they want to make sure that I'm not pregnant. But i got a shot with out a pregnancy test, but it doesn't matter because the shot didn't help. I even told them i can't have anymore kids. I have been here for 3hrs and I don't see me getting out of here anytime soon. Please trust me and go somewhere else."
"I gave an earlier review that I should have directed my anger and frustration toward the E R doctor and not the staff or hospital in early 2022. I found myself at this facility in December 2022 with pneumonia and other complications and was admitted. I was very impressed with the e r doctor and nurses. They were quick with a diagnosis and treatment to follow. Once admitted I again was impressed with the quality of care, the professional and caring devotion demonstrated even by the cleaning staff in which the whole hospital was immaculately clean. I highly recommend this facility and myself will support this hospital by using for health needs. Union parish is blessed to have them. My stay was 4 days and 3 nights and not once did I get green jello threw at me lol. J/s the food was even good. Thank you UGH Bennie Whitton Sr."
"In the past 20 years, my family and I have probably been hospitalized 10 times in West Monroe. I have always chosen larger hospitals thinking they were more up-to-date and had more resources. Not sure why I opted to use Union General Hospital instead of the one I have regularly used except the two times I went there for an x-ray, I was impressed. With COVID at its height, they took precautions that I did not see at the other hospital in West Monroe where I went just one week prior to this visit. They have a state-of-the-art machine set up at entrance to take temps of anyone walking in (just by stepping on it and looking into a lens), make-shift partitions between seats in the waiting room, all employees were masked, it was super clean, and the wait time was minimal. When I entered ER, they took me back within five minutes. Processing took a while because of insurance issues, but they had me in a room within three hours. From that point, all I can say is WOW. Here are the two main highlights of my visit at Union General, and I would be hard-pressed to say which one I appreciated the most: (1) The quality of care was exceptional. While I had no complaints about the care at other hospitals, the response time at Union General was much faster. From the RN’s, to the CNA’s, to housekeeping, everyone was awesome. They were aware of every little thing without having to ask, and they were so personable, efficient, and sweet. (2) Noise level was NOTHING. I mean, I literally heard nothing during my stay, and I was actually able to rest and heal. At the other hospital, you could hear raucous laughter from staff at 2:00-3:00 in the mornings and yelling or moaning from patients. Even if you had lights out and the door closed in your room, frequently the staff would not entirely close your door when they left, so the lights in the hallway and noise was beyond irritating. I’d have to get out of my bed and go close the door. I heard not one peep during my stay at Union General. Not even one. When the staff came in at night, they would open the bathroom door for light to see without turning on overhead lights. (I would never have complained about that, but it shows their thoughtfulness). They always closed the door when they left. And the bathrooms were amazing. They have been remodeled and look like those in finer homes. They were sanitized and had been labeled to that effect when I entered my room. (Food was well-seasoned and still warm, too.) Finally, I did not have to wait all day to see my doctor. Dr. Unkel came in each morning at a reasonable time and kept me advised on my progress. While I am aware a smaller hospital may not have the resources to handle more serious or unusual issues, I will ALWAYS use Union General Hospital in the future."
"Very impressed with the staff, ,nurse, and doctors attention. They were able to see me immediately and the nurse came to my room and took my information rather than me having to fill out redundant paperwork. The receptionist took my insurance information. The doctor came in timely and addressed my complaints and diagnosed my issue. He wrote me a script and discharge was quick and easy. The room was clean , modern, and well arranged. Overall a positive experience."
