"This place has positives and negatives, for sure. I've been going there for years. Here's what you need to know: Positives: * This is a sliding-scale clinic. If you can't afford medical care, this is enough of a reason to try this place. * There are some great folks here. Dr. Seets is a shining example. Dr. Cho, though his demeanor may be off-putting, can save your teeth (you may have to pressure him a bit to do fillings if an extraction would be easier/safer). The scheduling receptionist is as nice a lady as you'll meet. They also have a great televisit therapist, Ms. Evans. Working with those folks makes some of the drawbacks worth it. *The psychiatric nurse practitioner, Monte Moore, can be a huge help to those who need it. He is MUCH more effective than the (mostly quacks, frankly) bulk of the practitioners in the Shreveport/Bossier City area. Negatives: *They are overworked. Scheduling a tooth filling, for example, usually needs to be done 3 months or more ahead of time. This isn't their fault, but it is something to bear in mind. *There are some very rude people that you may have to deal with here. The pharmacist springs to mind right away. Like, go somewhere else if you can because they're not worth dealing with unless it's an emergency. I mean, I get it. They're used to dealing with a lot of... people who you can tell probably weren't star pupils. So they get in this mode where they treat everyone like an idiot. Whether this is enough of a drawback to offset this clinic's potential benefits is up to you. (Even Dr. Moore can be slightly off-putting as he gives the impression that he's the smartest person in any room. But you should definitely still see him anyway if you need his services in spite of this. Besides, to be fair, he probably is the smartest person in a lot of rooms.) ***The unprofessionalism and outright disdain shown by the pharmacist here cannot be overstated. It is easy to get the impression that she works here because she would never last at a real pharmacy. The only reason to utilize this pharmacy would be if you had no other choice.*** All in all, I plan to continue going here. The positives definitely outweigh the negatives for me. But everyone's needs are different, so you have to decide what's best for you based on your needs. Hopefully this review helps!"
"Dr. Cho is great. If you call to schedule an appt you have a 50/50 chance of either getting somebody helpful and nice or incredible rude. Whoever just took my call now for example. After inquiring about something she didn’t know the answer to she audibly huffed and puffed and became irritable after I asked if she could find out the answer for me. It’s your job and you can’t be bothered? The entitlement of some people…"
"Update: Failed to mention that they are quick. Don't think I've ever waited more than 15 mins to go back and honestly prob more like 10. Also, they quickly got my brother in after one of my brothers committed suicide. Someone did reach out and is doing all she can to get one med prob Monday. Will take another visit to clinic to get the other. She offered Monday for that but HATE appts. (I'm mental remember); then back friday for reg appt. Nah. I'll wait it out if I pursue treatment. Honest to God would take a beating everyday over appts and necessary phone calls. Looks like treatment will always involve too much of it with resulting duplicates of many of them and to the pharmacy as well. Have yet to have meds again in less than 8 days. But only this time as result of clinic. We could have planned for that required check up possibly had I known about it. Mrs Washington is an Angel and would give her all the stars in the sky. Without a doubt saved my mother in laws life. She turns out needed a pace maker. Long story and never did Mrs W. Ever lose her patience. One Dr at another clinic had even dismissed her prior. BUT first visit to new clinic for myself front staff lady was and remains rude when I saw her which hasn't been last few times so maybe shes gone. Everyone else has been wonderful. Dr Monte is quite litetally saving my life with his care."
"I have been calling for days for them to just call my pharmacy to get the details of my prescription right. My pharmacy has called several times and left messages for them also and still, no one seems to care are take 5 minutes to say two drops in both eyes per day that's all I need. After this bad experience with the clinic and Jeene, I just want to change clinics. This clinic doesn't care about its patients."
"My husband was an addict. He's been clean for over a year. Due to his choices early on in life, his teeth were in poor shape. He'd been suffering through an absess for a few weeks. Not wanting to lose any more teeth. But he knew he had to. We went to Bienville Clinic for an appointment for an extraction. The dentist there caused a lot of problems and pain. When my husband pleaded with him for something to help, as it was the most painful experience he's ever had for a simple extraction, the dentist asked him if my husband was a dentist and knew so much more than maybe he should go to another clinic. Also saying that if he needed to drug search so badly that this wasn't the clinic to visit. As my husband is on Medicaid, there aren't a lot of options around. He was completely disrespectful and rude beyond measure. I will be calling and reporting his treatment. The clinic and staff have been my husband's hometown clinic and had been seen there plenty of times to know what stage and condition he was in and has proven that he's been clean time and time again. After his extraction he talked to the dental aid about the pain, the aid asked what he had an appointment for and when my husband told the aid , their response was, "tooth's gone, right? So the pain is too." We didn't even catch the dentist's name but he's the newest one there, not Touchstone. This man is black and if he's your dentist I would schedule elsewhere. He was overly rough during the procedure and my husband moaned as loudly as he could that he could feel everything and that the nerve was still very much alive, the dentist only carried on describing what he was doing. Needless to say, we are both very upset with the treatment from a professional establishment. We won't be going there again, regardless of difficulties finding someone else."
