"Reporting this place to the city for health violations. The room was gross. Molding shower and bathmat, moldy mattress, hair from the prior guest, crusty blankets, and unswept floor. There were no towels which resulted in 3 texts, 2 voicemails, and using the sheets off the second bed to accommodate for the first day. The towels that did arrive, the second day (without communication) had bleached patches and felt older than I am. Then, there are the inconveniences: curtains that don't keep out the light, broken blinds, outlets that don't grasp plugs, tv didn't work, no towel racks, no hanging closet space, you can hear every guest door open and close due to the age of house/ lack of insulation/ poor venting, and barely enough room to walk around due to the size of the rooms and choice of beds. Camping is more comfortable than this. I hope the city takes action soon."
"Yikes! We stayed here because it was the cheapest option, and thus didn't expect much, but we were still somehow disappointed. We arrived in the morning and couldn't get ahold of the owners. They finally texted us the door codes fifteen minutes before our check-in time, but told us our room wasn't ready and we'd have to wait until after check-in. No acknowledgement of the multiple times we tried calling, texting, and emailing them. We rented a two-bedroom suite. One of the beds did not have a top sheet, only a fitted sheet and a crunchy blanket. The blinds in one of the rooms had dirt and dead plant roots (?!?) all over them. Chunks of paint had also fallen off the walls of our bedrooms, which didn't really impact our stay but had concerning implications for overall maintenance/upkeep. There were only two bath towels for four of us. When we contacted the owners about this, they told us to look in a closet for more; there were no towels in that closet, and they did not respond to our further attempts to get in touch with them about the towels. The cold water tap in the shower broke on our second day, making it very difficult to shower. Owners did not respond to our multiple texts about this. There was a dog—maybe multiple dogs?—being kept in the room across from us. Whining and barking was audible. The cherry on top of all of this: while poking around in the drawers in the room for additional towels, we found several empty canisters of nitrous oxide. Hopefully it made the stay more bearable for someone, but for me, the discovery of the nitrous oxide canisters was the moment when I seriously considered cutting our losses and checking into the La Quinta—and we would have, too, if we weren't broke students. Location was admittedly great, but do not stay here, even if you're used to traveling on a budget. Would give 0 stars if I could."
"Bring your own sheets and blankets? Bare beds, cold showers, and an uncommunicative landlord. Check in was at 4:30 PM, but even though we arrived around 5:30, we could not reach the landlord and get front door and room codes until after 9 PM. Fortunately, most of the group arrived the next day and were warned to ask in advance. Only 2 of the 7 beds in the rooms our group rented had full sets of sheets. The rest had only one bed sheet each, and not always the fitted sheet. At least one of those mattresses did not have a mattress cover either, and looked like it never had one. When we texted this to the landlord, we were told to look in the linen closet, which only had a set of twin sheets and some towels. Also, several of the blankets were filthy and there were no spare blankets in the linen closet. Rooms/suites in one half of the house had hot water, rooms in the other half did not, so probably a second water heater wasn't working. Yes, we tried both taps. At least the neighborhood was relatively quiet and relatively close to the French quarter, and the neighbors were all friendly. The landlord only responded to texts, and only did so to give door codes and the one time about the sheets."
"What you see is what you get. Self check in, your room will not get any service (I was lucky to catch a staffer who was cleaning another room where the guests had checked out of to get more toilet paper). Cleanliness is adequate, bed was very soft. No breakfast but they leave coffee and tea for self serve, there is a microwave. Walking distance from the French quarter so it was practical. Neighborhood felt safe. Light sleepers beware: you hear the commercial train that passes on the tracts by the water, for some reason it whistles several times. In summary: quality = price. I though it was worth it, spent the money I saved staying there on food (its the best!)"
"We stayed there this past weekend and for the most part, we enjoyed our stay. The room (Plantation) is small but has everything we needed. The shower water was warm and the A/C was working well. It was close to all of the fun without the noise, which made sleeping at night very pleasant. However, the first day we were there, we were supposed to check in at 3pm per their confirmation email. They sent us a code to enter the building around 1:30pm but we didn’t receive a text from them until 4pm with the code to our room, even though we had messaged them twice in between. My fiancé and I were in New Orleans for a wedding and was on a time crunch. I did not appreciate the lack of communication. Overall, the stay was fine but the communication could have been better."
