"I spent over 24 hours in the emergency waiting room after the urgent care doctor said I needed to get to the ER for a brain scan. Tests were done in a timely fashion, but many hours passed with my being told I would be next. After everyone before me had been seen and they were taking those who came after me, we asked to see the head of admissions . She said she did not have time for me. My son got me out of there. We had to go back the next day to receive my brain scan from records and try to interpret it ourselves. I since learned that one test was not " signed off on" for yet another day. I don't know if they would have left me sitting there for another 24 hours, even though ER had my results, but when I had asked why no one had seen me, I had been rudely told, "You want to leave? Here. Cross your name off the list!" A note: We were in the hospital when I became ill because my son's dad was dying and I was POA. Things got so bad in ER I had to write a note signing over POA to my son so he could transfer his dad to hospice house; he died a few hours later. Let me clarify, the staff was fabulous on the fifth floor of ololourdes, and doctor "ve" was the best. Most of the waiting room attendants and technicians also did what they could with the horrible situation in ER."
