"For the love of God, do not go here! One bed is $320 a week…not to bad right?? Guess again! The room ain’t worth $200 a week. It’s was dirty, holes in the wall, bathroom hadn’t ever been cleaned before I don’t think. The room smelled horrible! I’m a simple man, I don’t mind sleeping in a out dated establishment as long as it’s cleaned properly and kept up but this place is absolutely nasty. There is a hotel 2 minutes away called the budget inn. It’s 340 a week and 1000x better. The budget inn is out dated but it’s clean!"

"Cant find the ability or care about either fixing the fax machine at a multi million dollar hotel. Currently sitting outside the office waiting to check out to get my deposit back. Its 8:40am office supposed to be open 8am. Courtesy phone outside does not work. Terrible service"

"If you need a place to spend the night and you are on a low budget then you're okay $45 a night. However if you are like me and you are a neat freak / germophobe this place will make you cringe and I strongly suggest you stay away. I spent a total of 6 hours in this room before leaving. Some friends of mine needed a place to stay for an extended time on the extremely low budget so I suggested several places including this one and they decided to stay at Southern Inn due to it being very close to me I witnessed firsthand the cleaning staff tending two rooms that have been checked out of and what I saw makes me never want to stay in a in like this one again they proceeded to take the wedding off the bed however they only took the fitted sheet the flat sheets and pillowcases to be washed the blanket and the comforter with the duvet was left in the room on the floor in the corner. Being the extremely nosey person that I am I proceeded to bribe the so-called housekeeper into answering a few questions for me and I was told that when someone checks out the only thing that is done to the rooms is the sheets and pillowcases are washed if they seem dirty if not they're freshened up in the dryer with a spray that they use in her words they dampen the sheets with this homemade fabric refreshing Mist that they make mixing cheap fabric softener vinegar and baking soda and then throw the sheets into the dryer and then put them back on the bed they sweep and mop the room and rinse out the tub white down the sink and check to see if the toilet needs to be cleaned that is not my idea of Good Housekeeping"

"Great place to stay. I work out of town and have been in Boutte,LA many times. I never knew about this place. The management is very courteous and easy going. The price is awesome and the staff at the convenient store next to Southern Inn are equally awesome. I am from Florida and work in many places In Louisiana...If my next jobs are within 40 miles of the Southern Inn, I will stay here rather than something closer!!!!"

"Clean rooms, safe area & you can't beat $280 a week if you're here outta town for work. 40" flat screens and free wi-fi!"
