Luby's

"Luby's has the largest and best chicken fried steak around! I've eaten CFS at Cracker Barrel, Black Bear, Longhorn among others and I always come back to Luby's! The enclosed pic was after I ate about a third of it!"

"I love Luby's! However, my last trip, the food was disappointing! The food was too cold. I do not like cold food. The liver that I love was tough. I did not enjoy the food at all. The customer service was good! Waiter actually took my plate and carried it to table. They made sure that we were comfortable. After trying to enjoy food, I told waiter how disappointing the food was."

"I was traveling through Beaumont and decided to stop for the night. I saw the Luby's sign and decided to get some dinner. It was good, not as great as I remembered it was in San Antonio. I had the fish, mac & cheese, loaded mashed potatoes, salad, and beet salad. I also had the cream cheese jalapeños. I didn't like the beets at all, they have a spice that I don't like, I couldn't tell what it was but I didn't eat them. The mac & cheese were decent, the fish too. The potatoes were a little dry, I wish I would have got the mashed potatoes and gravy instead. I did end up taking the leftovers to my room and finishing it all. I'd go back."

"My son wanted a buffet for his birthday dinner, so Luby's came to mind. The staff was a little slow to explain the process to a large group, but they finally came around. The waitress was extremely helpful and polite, the chop steak was delicious, the kids were pleased and as a bonus, it didn't break the bank to feed eight people. There are 35 Luby's left, give one of them a try if you haven't."
