"We went to Home Depot to buy fake snow to spray on our Christmas tree. There were only 2 cans left on the shelf so we decided to go to customer service and ask them if there were any more cans available. He scanned the barcode and said there was 26 cans left. He then called someone from the gardening department to go see if there were any in the overhead. The guy from the gardening center then goes looks around where we got our 2 cans from, walks outside in the gardening area come back to the customer service desk... goes back to the gardening area (he does this at least 4 times)...then ends up in the lumber department. After about 30 minutes of waiting for more cans of snow, I go ask the first guy at the customer service desk if the other guy got lost or did he stop looking... like what the hell is he doing? We'll needless to say... He decided it was his break time and ended up in the break room. So we ended up going walk outside where they keep the overhead and help them find the boxes of snow. RIDICULOUS! I almost told then never mind when we finally found the case."
"I just visited your Broussard, LA location of Home Depot and I must say I was truly disgusted and insulted! While loading up my cart with supplies for my pool, garden, air-conditioning and paint I thought I overheard Mexican music playing over the store music system. In South Louisiana? Then I heard it again, and again, and again. I asked several of your Home Depot associates and they told me they apologize, but they are being forced to play this music. Never mind that the Spanish/Mexican population here is almost non-existent, this is the area of the country that gave us the wonderfully rich Cajun and Zydeco music, but no local music was playing, only music from Mexico. I asked several of the associates if this was a local decision or a corporate one, but they were scared to comment. They did ask that I and all of my fellow shoppers at Home Depot write letters to complain to corporate, because angry customers were blaming them and they don’t like the music either. I added up the items that I was about to purchase and it came out to about $350. I explained to the cashier that I was not going to purchase these items because of the insult to the local Cajun and Creole population. Instead I drove to Lowes in Opelousas and when I walked in the door a Zydeco song was playing, I screamed out loud “Aiy-eey!” and walked up to the service desk and told them my story. They said that Home Depot’s insistence on playing Mexican music in Louisiana was driving many customers to Lowe’s. I am finished with Home Depot…"
