"Walked in here on a Saturday afternoon. There was someone sitting in the seat already halfway through a haircut and I was the only one else waiting. I sat and waited for 30 minutes and the barber was moving in slow motion, taking his time talking to the customer. I wasn’t acknowledged once since walking in. Then the barber just began doing the shaving portion when I realized he was nowhere near done so I left. Way too slow - I didn’t want to spend 1.5 hours in the middle of my day just to get a simple haircut that should take 15 minutes."

"Proper old school barber in a good location with attention to detail and an excellent hot towel shave. Was there on a weekday and able to just walk in, but will be busier on weekends so consider a reservation. Pricey comparative to some other places around but it didn't feel rushed in any way."

"I love coming to see Pat when I am in New Orleans. I first got my hair cut by him before a fancy wedding that was being held at the Ritz last year - and the concierge there suggested I go to Monteleone Barber Shop for the trim I requested. Stepping into Monteleone Barber shop is like stepping back in time (although doubtful a woman would have gotten her hair cut there in the 1940s) and Pat has an amazing plant that should not be alive because I don't think it has ever been repotted but it thrives where it is. I am sure this is not important to most guys who go in this barber shop (maybe I am being sexist) but the plant is a highlight. Back to Pat: he listens to what you want to be done with your hair and asks even more questions and then does a great cut. He is a gentleman (local of course to New Orleans area) and an excellent barber - and every time I am in New Orleans, I will make sure my hair is ready to be cut and "head" there."

"Fantastic experience. We were in New Orleans, staying at the Hotel Monteleone for a getaway weekend and my hair was getting pretty shaggy, so I walked in on a Saturday and got a really nice haircut. This is a true old school barbershop with the hot lather neck shave, etc. Price was reasonable at $25. The barber has been cutting hair for 63 years and is a really nice man. Much appreciated!"
