"Very dissatisfied with the way my hair was braided on my last visit. My hair was braided in the wrong direction causing it to pull and I had several bumps. NOT PLEASED. 2 weeks later I'm taking these braids down. This was a waste of $180!"
"THIS PLACE SMELLS AWFUL. IT WAS DARK IN THE FRONT AS YOU WALK IN AS IF THE LIGHTS WERE TURNED OFF AND THEY WAS WORKING ON A GENARATOR."
"Love it.Every time I go,it's friendly and nice. I'm so glad you can go and be seen that day with no problem"
"*****Review update***** Started braids on Mar 29th Finished Apr 14th The 2-week lag in getting my braids completed was all me, I just couldn't get back over there due to other obligations. However, when I did schedule to return to finish the hair braiding process, prior to my arrival, I texted Aby and said "on the way" but upon my arrival Aby advised me that her sisters (hair braiders) were heading out for a wedding and she would appreciate if I came back the next day. She said she would do my hair if I refused to wait and return, but she was tired and they were leaving. So I returned Saturday and another lady finished my hair & replaced the 33 braids, yes 33 braids, that had come out within the past 2 weeks. I left knowing I would try another braider and pray for a better outcome. ———————— (First Review) —————— So for the difficulty I had finding a microbraider, this place makes me happy. Aby and her team are active at handling the business at hand... HAIR BRAIDING. First there was Miriam and now there's Aby... Located in the lower 9th ward on St Claude Avenue, you can easily see the business from a passing vehicle, but don't go too fast, this area is growing by leaps and bounds. This hair braiding studio also doubles as a beauty supply house; I mean that's ingenious. The beauty supply store has the regular beauty supply items and a few other things. Some authentic looking African-wear caught my attention; unfortunately I didn't have time to peruse like I wanted to, I'm always looking for "new different finds". I've seen several different styles that are popular in the hair game, and KUDOS to the team for keeping up with the trends. The hair game is pretty fast and ever changing and it seems like this place is up to par to keep their hat in the game. Bring your own hair or purchase some when you get there... whatever tickles your fancy. For me, I purchased my own hair because I plan to keep these braids in for a while; after 6 hours sitting in the chair, wouldn't you? The ladies are from various parts of Africa and in this space, they speak in their native tongue; sometimes it's interesting to listen in and just imagine what they're talking about; other times I just tune out. I mean 6 hours is plenty enough time to flip flop between both. The pricing is fair and in-line with the industry norm for the area. Fyi, a few braids have come out here and there, but I Aby's gonna fix me up in a JIFFY!!!! WooooHooooo!!!!"
