"Love love love the atmosphere but won’t lie…we had a quite disappointing experience. First, & I mean this in the kindest way possible, it would be hugely helpful to specify what a child’s haircut means. Age limits, etc. I have a 10 year old, but he does have thick hair & so I braced myself for the possibility it may cost more than the $25 specified on the stylist’s profile. He wanted it a little shorter. No biggie…but it ended up being $60. With tip, it was way more. Again, it wouldn’t have been a big deal if it would’ve been an actual haircut & not a haphazard trim with long, straggly sections that I had to clean up at home. My son is very shy & polite so it wasn’t until we got home that he burst into tears. Also, there was a stylist that was going on & on about “effin’ this & effin’ that” in front of my kid & loud enough that I could hear him downstairs. Wow. NO. We aren’t prudes & goodness knows we hear those words. But that was over the top, inappropriate, & hugely unprofessional. Just because TikTok, OnlyFans, & Social Media broadcasts inappropriate subject matter without shame doesn’t mean it’s the norm. Or if Stardust supports such a laid back attitude, perhaps make it clear before parents think it’s safe to visit. Had we known, we would have passed & that’s totally cool! We’re clearly not the kind of clientele Stardust caters to & that’s fine. Absolutely fine. We know for next time. It’s a neighborhood salon & we would’ve loved to have supported it, though. Maybe another time. For now, we’ll support another."
