"First time client and absolutely impressed with how friendly and professional Ally was with me. Loved my manicure and I’m ready for the holidays. Would absolutely recommend!"
"Hair stylist had extremely and dangerously outdated knowledge, told him I had eczema and needed sweetener added to bleach and he had no clue about this method of reducing irritation to bleach, then insisted I keep bleach on my scalp despite my saying I could not handle it multiple times, I had so many chemical burns I could not finish my touch up and left with awful looking brassy yellow roots because he damages my scalp so badly. Also applied the bleach sloppily with his hands so much so it bleached stained a very expensive sweatshirt which is never a problem at any other salon, also nearly got bleach in my eyes because his application was so sloppy. Was not given a refund or reimburse for the damage they did to my clothes. NEVER GO HERE!"
"I was a regular customer and I had been going there to get my hair colored blonde and we were supposed to be going in stages. Leslie Diaz was my hair stylist. Everything was going ok until our last visit when she over processed my hair and left the bleach in my hair for WAY TOO LONG ! To the point that I LOST so much hair! Yes! My HAIR FELL OUT. It broke off. The entire length in the back of my hair fell off about 2 inches, other areas between 3-4 inches on the sides. On top of that, she completely burned my hair, she has ruined my curl pattern. Has created irreversible damage. I will never be able to get my curly hair pattern ever again. It’s nothing but BURNT OUT FRIZZ! Since my hair is curly, I was not able to tell at the moment because she blew out my hair. Curly hair looks longer when it is blow dried straight, so the day that she did my hair, I was not able to tell that there was anything wrong with it. I did not noticed until I washed my hair and I felt it for myself! My hair density felt less and when I tried to crunch the back of my hair to apply gel to my curls, I could feel that my length was much shorter. When I tried to call the manager Candace, she shut me up! Before I could even finish a sentence, she said, “Let me stop you right there…” and went on and on about how my hair looked beautiful from the pictures that Leslie showed her. Instead of giving me a chance or allow me to tell her what Leslie did to me hair. I attempted to call to speak with another manager, and she too blew me off leaving me a voicemail that the matter had been handle and for me to not even bother calling back. So yes, I had really liked going to see Leslie as my hairstylist, but as soon as there was a problem, there was no apology or acceptance of the negligence of her mistake. Even the salón mistreated me and was very rude to me in mishandling this situation. Now, my hair is going to take YEARS TO GROW BACK IF THAT! I deserve an apology and my money back!"
"WORST Haircut I've ever gotten in my entire life! I dont leave reviews, but I've been dealing with this hack job of a cut for two months and had to get it fixed by another stylist in Baton Rouge. I came to John Jay the day after my wedding to get my hair cut for my honeymoon. I wanted a simple cut, all one length and even showed my stylist, Merlin I think his name was, a sample picture. He didn't listen AT ALL when I told him I didn't like what he was doing and kept saying "Oh it will fall beautifully!". His hands were shaking the entire time he cut my hair and he even continued to insult my hair color and my eyebrows in a very unprofessional manner. I've never felt worse about my hair and had to hide these awfully embarrassing "layers" by pulling it up or curling it when I can. Horrible cut, horrible service, and definitely not worth what I was charged!"
"Do you like to be yelled at? Then you talk to Nicole at John Jay. She told me to arrive early because of the “ storm “ ( light rain). She had to pick up her kids. Was I going to make Beverly ( stylist) drive home alone in the rain? Arrived early. Beverly wanted to know why I was an hour early— “ sit down and wait.” They refused to take back a product I hadn’t even opened even though Kristin said I could return it. Nicole yelled at me again. Hey, Beverly gave me decent haircut but is anywhere in the world worth this treatment?"
