About the Business
Lilette, located at 3637 Magazine Street in New Orleans, Louisiana, is a bar and restaurant housed in a charming late-1800's corner drugstore with plate-glass windows. Known for its romantic ambiance, Lilette is a favorite spot for attractive young couples enjoying a meal or stealing a kiss on the creamy banquettes. The restaurant has been a staple in the New Orleans dining scene since chef and owner John Harris opened its doors in 2001.
Lilette offers a menu that expertly combines French and Italian influences, with dishes like bouillabaisse and duck confit that have been mainstays for years, as well as new items introduced to showcase seasonal ingredients. The dimly-lit, wine-colored dining room is considered one of the prettiest in Uptown New Orleans.
Chef John Harris, who was named Best Chef New Orleans by New Orleans Magazine and has been recognized by the James Beard Foundation, brings his passion for cooking and premium ingredients to every dish at Lilette. In addition to Lilette, Chef Harris also opened the acclaimed Bouligny Tavern next door, offering fine wines, classic cocktails, and a sumptuous small plates menu.
Ed Charles, who joined the Lilette team in 2003, brings his experience from working with renowned chefs like Susan Spicer to the kitchen. After co-helming the kitchen for 16 years, Charles became a co-owner of Lilette. The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday for lunch and dinner, and closed on Sundays.
With its timeless charm and delicious cuisine, Lilette continues to be a favorite dining destination in New Orleans, attracting locals and visitors alike.

"Delicious food in a beautiful setting Beets were light and tasty. Gnocci was like a pillow. Delicious. As was special salad. Pate was also delicious but very rich. Each entree was full of flavor. Would recommend everything we had."
"Incredible! Very cozy and romantic vibes. Everything we tried was delicious but we couldn’t get over how rich and flavorful the mushroom toast was! No detail was overlooked, highly recommended for an intimate or celebratory dinner!"
"Great spot for a date night or intimate dinner. The service is always attentive, and the food is consistently great. Admittedly a multiple course dinner can get pricy, but for the great experience you’ll have, it’s warranted. The crab claws and oysters were fantastic. Also highly recommend the gnocchi. If you’re not ready to end the night after dinner, pop into Bouligny next door for a cocktail and a more relaxed atmosphere."
"The food was magnificent. Best meal I have had in years. I had the lamb and my friend had the branzino. The Italian Wedding soup was homemade and delicious."
"We had an outstanding meal! We stayed within walking distance of this stunning restaurant and it did not disappoint. We chose to spend our last lunch here and now I'm upset we hadn’t come sooner! Google images don’t do Lilette justice, read the menu and make a reservation stat!"
