Reviews of Ginza
"I had walked in for a Togo order. I placed my order at 3:45, I remember cause the manager said it was going to take 15min so I checked the time because I had to be at work at 4:45. My order was miso soup, crunchy roll and volcano roll. Not only did I wait 45 minutes for my food, but I found a hair in my volcano roll. I was so upset because I was already late for work, hungry, waited 45 min and then to find a hair and the taste wasn’t that great. I called the manager and she hung up on me twice. I will be going in person for a refund with the sushi I found a hair in. My first and last time going here."
"The sushi is subpar. I ordered 3 rolls and was only able to eat 2 because one of the rolls smelled off. The clear soup hardly any flavor at all and what there was is just nasty. I found a hair in my seaweed salad."
"Sushi was okay, a little on the small side for the rolls. The big disappointment was the $5 cucumber salad that had zero dressing and barely any sesame seeds. Overall I wouldn’t go back"
"EDIT AS OF 10/31/18: Customer service was awful tonight. The sashimi that came out on the sushi boats tasted both lackluster and fishy (especially the yellowtail). Rolls were not adequately assembled; they fell apart with minimum chopstick manipulation. They messed up our shrimp tempura appetizer and only brought out one shrimp from the getgo. Turns out that the the owner had brought out the replacement shrimp and had given it to the sushi staff. She did admit this mistake, and they have removed this item from our bill. The waitress's service was lacking tonight as well, especially in terms of refilling our drinks and lately providing us with the proper plates for soy sauce and the rolls. She did give us a lot of pickled ginger as requested, so she had that going for her. But even the pickled ginger tasted a bit sourer than normal. Unfortunately, tonight's visit has permanently soured my ratings of this facility to a one star. You guys dropped the ball incredibly hard. OLD REVIEW: Generous portions and non-fishy taste for their sashimi dinners. Ginza roll is actually my favorite because it is flavor packed with excellent cuts of fish and balanced by just the right amount of rice. I found my new favorite sushi restaurant in all of Baton Rouge. Finally, the sauce that comes out with the tempura is what a proper tempura sauce should taste like. Hints of finely pureed ginger and garlic to add refreshment to the palate for a standard fried appetizer."
"I know this is strange, but out of all of the years I have eaten at Hunan, I had never been to Ginza, upstairs from Hunan, until today. I was impressed. The appetizer was an off the menu tuna around crab with fresh wasabi on top. Even the regular crab roll had a great flavor. The tuna sashimi was very fresh. The treasure roll had honey instead of eel sauce, and no cream cheese, at my request. The rainbow roll had a fresh and well balanced flavor. The surf and turf had an excellent sauce on it. Let me add that most of these rolls were only $12.95 and the portions were huge. We both left with Togo boxes. It's always great to catch up with old friends, over a great meal !!! We aren't here forever !! I will definitely be back !!"
