iMonelli Restaurant 4017 Johnston Street, Lafayette, LA 70503

"I should have snapped a few pictures but I didn't. The food is fantastic and the service is impeccable. We had the stuffed filet, ribeye, each a small Imonelli salad, and a shrimp and scallops grits for an appetizer. We followed it all up with a piece of yum yum cake. It was all cooked and prepared as desired. Always an enjoyable experience. 2/10/24 update: Still delicious. Enjoyed the veal Osobucco this time. Picture attached."

"Having never set foot in the place since moving here 7 years ago, I was anxious to try the food although it was at a seminar. Our orders were taken before the meeting and it lasted an hour which should've given the kitchen ample opportunity to have the food ready. Granted, there were about 30+ of us there, but, the restaurant itself wasn't busy with just a couple of tables on a Tuesday night. We were brought out our first course (soup or salad), and, was okay, but then, had to wait an additional 15-20 minutes before the food started trickling out of the kitchen. Due to the fact I had to get back to work, I got mine to go and didn't bother to check it before leaving. It was a piece of grilled chicken breast with mushroom sauce that was overcooked with charred edges and tough as shoe leather. The person putting it in the go box just dumped it all together in the box and handed it to me. The green beans appeared to be from a can and had no taste. Thankfully, I didn't have to pay for it but feel bad for the seminar host and know I won't be returning."

"Lindsey, our server, was the only bright spot of a very lackluster meal. Both of our entrees were mediocre at best. I had the lamb and the demi glacé was so incredibly salty that it was inedible. My husband’s veal dish was served cold. What really bothers me is the atmosphere and shabbiness of the back dining room. And, the musician was so loud we couldn’t converse. It was a very unpleasant dining experience."

"Love this restaurant!! The food is amazing! Love the lunch and dinner menu. We went for lunch and they give you a free soup or salad with your meal. The spinach and tasso bisque is so flavorful! Paired so good with the homemade free bread! Service was great!!! I got the small crab cake with a side of pasta with imonelli sauce! DELICIOUS! My friend got the oyster spaghetti with shrimp and it was so good! Definitely recommend everyone should come eat here!! Love the staff!!"

"There was a 45-minute wait due to being short staffed, but well worth it. The Soft Shell Crab appetizer was delicious. The Ribeye was cooked to perfection and so tender. I apologize for the dark photos. I didn't want to ruin the ambiance with a huge flash."
