"Not good pizza. Cheese is chewy and crust is tough. Low quality of the ingredients is apparent. Service was ok, I felt bad for the young lady in the restaurant alone having to do everything. Just noticed that every other review is overly high praise and 5 stars. Seems kind of strange as I don’t consider myself highly critical of pizza. The crust was far from light and crispy and closer to soggy tire rubber. Cheese had a plastic taste. Just can’t imagine what other reviewers got that they considered in the conversation of best pizza in BR area."

"Best traditional pizza in the Denham Springs/Baton Rouge area - think Red Zeppelin/Schlitz, but at least twice as good. We ordered a standard pepperoni and the crust is the main attraction for me - it’s on the thinner side, has plenty of crunch and flop where it’s needed, and had great char on the bottom. The toppings were on point, and not too greasy. Outside of Rocca, pizza in this area needs some serious help, and Retro Pizza is pulling its weight."

"I would honestly give this place 10 stars if I could. There is a serious lack of good pizza in this area from Denham in to BR. This place is a beacon of light in a very dimly lit area for pizza. Done the way it should be with great ingredients and a genuine love for a good slice. Kevin offered us second to none service and even gave a courtesy call when the food was done. Coming from new england and mostly from CT where this is a popular style of pizza. You wont find anything else like it around here. If you haven't already, give it a shot!"

"Fantastic! You can’t find pizza like this anywhere in the area, Baton Rouge included. It’s obvious the owner did his homework while creating this recipe. Spoke to him while we were waiting on ours to be ready. You can tell he takes pride in his recipe and he should. Best pizza around. Will be back. The crust was fantastic."
