"Country Boy in my opinion has the best catfish, chicken, and seafood I've ever had. I always have to eat there when I'm in town. Yum!! Yum!!"
"Mom & Pop places are the best and this one surely doesn’t disappoint! Coleslaw was great, tarter sauce was unique and tasted awesome, oysters were fried to perfection. Wife was shocked at how good the chicken livers were. Oh, the fried fish was actually whole fillets of catfish; not cut-up strips. So when you get a 3 piece, you actually get 3 fillets of fish like it used to be!!!"
"The ladies working were friendly and smiling and so nice! Only thing better was the food!! Best catfish and meat pie and home made coleslaw in the whole western part of Louisiana!! It’s kind of plain Jane from the outside-bit cozy small town diner feel inside-Definitely stop and check it out!!"
"Had a quick bite while traveling. The food was very good, I had catfish filets and coleslaw. What was interesting was the tartar sauce. It wasn't the traditional tartar sauce, but it had a sweet taste to it, but it was quite tasty. The catfish was done to perfection. You order from the front desk and then wait until your order number is called. It was a very busy place, I certainly recommend their food."
"If you're looking for a local eatery that's been around forever, this is your place. Southern fried chicken/fish with typical fried sides. Known for its chicken. Location: in a shopping center area. Gps can take you there. Shared parking lot, but plenty of parking. Atmosphere: dated. Nothing fancy with minimal decor & checkered table cloths. Tables only, no booths. Order at the counter style. Smells like fried chicken. When we went it was very hot inside. Service: Very friendly cashier and food server. Easy to talk to. Food comes out at a decent pace. Go up to the counter for refills, no table service other than food brought to you. Once done, just leave plates on the table & they will clean up when they can. Food: what I like is you can tell them what pieces of chicken you want (thighs, breast, legs, etc.). Fried chicken, fish, oysters, shrimp, fries, meat Pies, coleslaw, chicken livers, steak fingers, rolls, onion rings, mashed potatoes. All of the sides feel frozen/instant and not homemade. Price: feels fair. We like getting the barn builder which is 2 pieces of chicken, fries, a jalapeno pepper, coleslaw & roll for $8.50. Combo with 1 chicken 1 fish & sides is $9.45. Chicken livers are high at $7.29 for 5 livers (you can buy a whole container at walmart for $3). Overall, not bad. It's a good memory for us when we go. Takes me back to my grandma eating with us here. Classic country chicken place with a very simple country feel inside."
