Reviews of Sakai Park
"We were only there to see the Pia the Peacemaker troll (HIGHLY RECOMMEND SEEING ALL 6 OF THE ONES IN THE PNW!!!). The area was very muddy since it has been rainy recently."
"On a quest to see all of the Dambo trolls here in the Pacific Northwest and this was number five on my list. Absolutely amazing and I love my time here on Bainbridge Island, starting the day here with a ferry ride and an amazing breakfast at the streamliner and then hiking from the ferry to the troll. He is a Danish environmentalist that has done hundreds of these incredible troll recycled structures around the world that incorporate indigenous people efforts with modern times to link cultures together using recycled materials. Each one is truly so incredibly amazing"
"We went to see Thomas Dambo’s Pia the Peacemaker troll. It’s very close to the car park so we didn’t visit the rest of the park. The car park was muddy, bring your galoshes and floor mats for your car."
"Parking is not great but you can park at the aquatic center (according to the park map). One reviewer said they went on the weekend and parked at the school across the street so we did the same when we went on a Sunday. The troll at the park is marvelous. I think this is one of if not my favorite public art installations. It's beautiful and fits right in with the setting. It is worth going to see Pia. The park itself has a nice trail, though it will be pretty muddy on wet days so be prepared for that. We weren't able to go all the way down to the water because of a small amount of flooding. I would definitely go again."
"We went to see the troll. She is fabulous. The park is small with nice paths to stroll around. But the parking was tricky - I suspect the park doesn't normally have a large number of people descend upon it - the troll is a huge draw! We were able to park on the street - and people weren't stopping too long."
