Reviews of Paradise Point State Park
"Campground is small but nice. Traffic noise isn't the road. Anyone complaining about it obviously is from the country or has ears like a bat. Someone even said they had to yell to talk over the traffic, that's not true at all. The traffic isn't that loud. I came in the off season which has a lot of sketchy looking campers but that's normal for campsites in the off season. I bet this place is amazing in the summer. Tent spots are anywhere from small to spacious. Most have a nice grassy spot for a tent. The other half is currently closed but looks nice but is even more compact. Can't wait until it opens up so I can grab one of the primitive spots. I'll definitely come back. Also it's really easy to get to which is a huge plus. I stayed in the yurt this time and what a great cozy little place to spend a couple nights. Better than most motels I've stayed at. The mattresses are hard so bring a mattress pad if you got one or inflatable mattress. It's nice having a campground in the city because you got hook ups for water and power at multiple sites and the restrooms are real restrooms. Showers are free for campers and water hookups are potable water, in fact the water towers are next to the park. Very short walk to the river, about a half mile. I just wish the sites weren't as close to each other but the cramped size is the only negative I can think of."
"This is by far the worst campground that I have ever stayed in! Far too many people living here in run down tarp covered trailers fixing their cars in the driveways. The freeway noise is definitely unpleasant if your trying to sit outside. There are only 20 sites that have water & electric & they are all along the freeway. Water pressure was a joke! The wood we purchased was wet & it was hard to find anyone there so you could purchase it! Close to casino although they say they lock the gate at 10pm. I hear the disc golf course is a good one."
"Nice and sunny. But you can hear and see the freeway the entire time you're camping. Even down at the water. The nice thing is they have lots of picnic areas down by the water. The other thing I liked a lot is you can pick from a walk-in site starting at $12 a night at 2 RV site I believe for $45 night. So they all range in price depending on the site."
"I rented a Yurt. It was fun and relaxing time. The river is not as close as you may think. Unless you going to hike to it or walk it’s about 1.5 to 2 miles away so great exercise. There is no playground for the kids. The beach area by river is beautiful and clean. The park rangers were amazing and extremely welcoming. The bathroom and showers were constantly clean and sanitized. The problem the area we were in was to close to the freeway which is the I5 freeway. If I did little more research I would’ve changed spots. It was extremely loud at night and the morning."
"As an adult with disabilities I would like to write this as a - 10! I reserved an ADA 5 months in only to find out when we get there that it is full of ruts and the asphalt was up heaving because of the roots of the trees! "TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!" I fell twice, the second time the worst as I ended up having to seek medical attention. When I spoke to the park ranger as well as the Ada representative for the state parks I was told that they were aware of many issues regarding the ADA camp spot, yet still allowed it to be rented and used. ....again, """""" TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!! """""" The staff were quite pleasant, and the park was in pretty fair shape but not as good as it could be by far!"
