"Great place to hike among the trees with gorgeous views. You do need a Washington Discover pass, at least to park."
"Great easy walk to the water and linger hike through trails leading to the water. Would give 5 stars if parking was a little better."
"We absolutely love this easy walk! It's mostly paved, with a little gravel near the end. The round-trip is about 3.5 miles, but the more adventurous can add a beautiful loop through the forest, if desired. The extra forest walk is almost as long as the rest of the trail and is not paved, though it is maintained. Whichever way you go, you'll enjoy the sounds of Swainson's Thrushes, Song Sparrows, Robins, Pacific Wrens, a variety of warblers, and the occasional crow, amongst other wildlife. We often see bunnies and slugs. We sometimes catch sight of the occasional newt or harmless snake. There are concrete canoes at the end of the main trail as well as a covered picnic area and a pit toilet. From either side of the little peninsula, you can watch the Double-crested Cormorants in the rookeries across the water and sometimes see Great Blue Herons. The left/west side of the peninsula offers views of a large pier that serves as a habit for bats, as well as a floating wood platform that the seals and birds love."
"The park is gorgeous as is the trail to it.unfortunately it is ruined by the almost certainty that your car will be vandalized. And when you call the police they do not come . A real shame, especially because the police know who the vandals are ."
"The other side is great, the south side is sketch. South side hike is way too short, not well maintained, typically closed for bird seasons– avoid and go on the other side. By kayak the area is great, but the hike to the point from the chehalis western trail is bad."
