About the Business
Wilbur Parkins Park, located in Centralia, Washington, is a beautiful waterfront park established in 1972 through a generous land donation by Wilbur and May Parkins. The park expanded in 1990, now spanning over 5 acres along the scenic Skookumchuck River at the end of Meridian Avenue. Popular with the community, this rustic park offers gravel beaches and water access to secluded areas of the river. Please note that due to budget constraints, services at Wilbur Parkins Park may be limited. Reviews
"I suppose if you fish you should call it a fishing hole otherwise it's just grass that isn't watered.... There is no parking unless you are alongside someone's yard ( parkin park sounds like there's parking doesn't it???)... No bathrooms tables or any other sort of amenities."
"I remember the Great swimming areas but really not much there other than that the last time I was there it was not kept up and I've always known it as B street park"
"The place itself is fairly nice, but the locals aren't all the most savory of types, tends to get a lot of riff Raff honestly"
"It's a pretty park but it's not kept up very well and you have to be careful of who's there."
"This waterfront park was originally established in 1972 by a land donation by Wilbur and May Parkins. Additional land was acquired in 1990 to expand park boundaries. This undeveloped 5-plus acre site is located along the banks of the Skookumchuck River at the end of Meridian Avenue. Informal rustic improvements over the years are the result of the site’s popularity with the community. This site provides gravel beaches and water access to some of the more secluded stretches of the river. Amenities located at park: • Primitive parking • Fishing/water access • Primitive trails • Picnic tables • Benches • Open play areas Though in recent years the city has gated off the park and is not maintaining the park."
