Reviews of Siouxon Creek Trailhead
"This is an exceptional trail for a day hike or an easy backpack. And it's one of those that's great no matter the weather. My last hike there started in mostly dry but cloudy late spring conditions the way out, then pouring rain on the way back, complete with some thunder. The down side, secret is out on this spot so the trailhead gets packed on a weekend. But even with a full parking area, the trail itself wasn't too terribly crowded. Not enough to take away from the scenery for the most part, with the exception of a few Intagram picture posers. But that's just the world we live in now! The "normal" Siouxon Creek trail follows the creek for about 4 miles to a bridge. Once can go there and back, but there are a few alternatives to extend the hike further. Going straight past the bridge leads to additional and lesser seen waterfalls."
"Hiked Siouxon Creek for the first time 10/8/19, it is a magical place and a must see! 9.10 miles with 1318ft elevation gain in 6hrs 10 mins total time, 5hrs 26mins moving time and 46mins stopped time. I hiked from Siouxon Creek Trailhead parking to Chinook Falls out and back. The drive in (watch out for fallen trees) isn't too bad till the last 4 miles, but I think with care in driving any car can make it to the TH. There are big potholes and paved/ dirt patches. Great for small children at the lower elevation, but there is a Creek washout on the trail before Chinook Falls. Not handicap friendly. 1 other vehicle in the lot when I arrived at 6:08am, saw 5 people and 3 dogs after 11am. With 3 other cars in the lot when I left. Parking area is gravel and fits 20+ cars. No bathrooms at this TH. Great camping spots on trail with beautiful views and some even have picnic tables. Trail is pretty spacious till the second big waterfall, then turns to single file."
"Great hike. Beautiful place. The drive there gets a little tricky the last 7 miles or so. One lane for 2 way traffic and very deep pot holes. Not complaining just giving you the heads up. Totally worth the trip. Just beautiful!"
"Fantastic hike with great views of the creek and all of the water walls. Tons of well established campsites on the water. Well maintained trail and decent sized parking area but get there early."
"Absolutely gorgeous area of the Cascades. A moderate trail that runs more or less parallel to Siouxon Creek. Plenty of areas to camp at, some sites can support large groups. Tons of swimming holes and prepare yourself for chilly water. Last visit made the trek more difficult by creating a loop, connecting to Chinook and Wildcat trails. Wildcat Trail, depending on how far you venture up before turning back down to cross Siouxon Creek to complete the loop can be difficult. The trail is raw and evidence of non routine maintenance is apparent. Have fun and don't forget to take care of your TP!"
