"My name is Evan and I basically don’t know very much about taxes. I had a lot of medical expenses in 2011 and asked chuck whether the amount I spent that year was enough to do a schedule A form (itemized deduction), which would’ve reduced my overall taxable income. He said that my expenses were enough and that he could modify my taxes for 2011. We signed a contract, etc. and I paid him for the work. The unfortunate thing is, he basically gave me bad advice on this and there was no reason I should have had my taxes modified for this year. My medical expenses were less than standard deduction, which was $5800, yet he still decided to modify my taxes anyways and take my money. I ended up paying a few hundred bucks for nothing essentially and I felt that he took advantage of my lack of knowledge on the tax system. He did do my state taxes for that year, but the majority of his time was spent on modifying my 2011 federal taxes which did not need to be modified. I recommend finding a cheaper tax person for personal taxes unless they are pretty complex."
