"My cat Boba has been in dire need of dental extractions since we discovered it at his annual exam a couple months ago, so we decided to book the soonest appointment which was about 8 weeks out. He's since been seen at another Banfield location to monitor the situation and his condition is steadily getting worse and was told that he's likely in a lot of pain. Today, I received a phone call ONE WEEK AHEAD of his scheduled appointment because they said they overbooked themselves and that the next available was in MAY-- another 6-8 weeks outs. Absolutely appalling and it makes me wonder how many other people's pets have continued to suffer due to the carelessness shown at this location."
"Absolutely the most unprofessional and rude experience I've had with a vet. I scheduled an appointment at 2PM, got a confirmation. Luckily I took a screenshot on my phone. I show up and they tell me I don't have an appointment for 2PM, its 3:30PM. So I pull out my phone and show them the screenshot-- very clearly says 2PM. Well, they tell me that's too bad, whoever put it in their system wrote down 3:30PM, so I don't have an appointment anymore. They said Im "welcome to wait" until they can fit me in. So literally they DOUBLE BOOKED my appointment slot and then changed my appointment time without asking-- no checking to see if that works for me. Just TELLING me they wont take me even AFTER I literally showed them a screenshot to prove that I did have a confirmed appointment at 2PM. So I wait.....and wait....and wait.... over 45 minutes pass and now I can hear the vet through the door starting an appointment with the guy next door to me who got here at 2:30PM. YEP! You'd think once they realized their mistake the least they could do would be to put me next in the queue to be seen...but no-- they planned to let me sit there for 1.5 hours while they saw other people. Even though they knew it was THEIR mistake for double-booking my appointment time. Oh, and it gets worse! Apparently they don't realize how thin their walls are because I could hear the staff talking crap about me through the walls about how I "just showed up 1.5 hours early"-- again, this was AFTER I showed them a screenshot to prove that no, I am not early, I am ON TIME to my 2PM appointment. I ended up walking out because I cannot wait around all day. They never apologized or even admitted to their mistake. They acted like I was in the wrong for showing up to my scheduled appointment that THEY changed without asking me. Absolutely unprofessional and incredibly rude that I could hear them talking poorly of me through the walls for something that was THEIR mistake. I'm still so incredibly angry over this. Now I have to start all over again with finding a vet a booking an appointment like a month out to get my cat seen all because these people are so so incompetent. Zero stars if I could."
"Care was adequate for basic comprehensive exams. Unable to make appointment over phone or online, had to go in person. Appointments booked wrong multiple times. Exam rooms not cleaned between pet visits. Pets always taken out of sight for exams and vet follow ups at the end are rushed, un-informative. Wellness plan is difficult to cancel and will cost you money in the end - customer service will not explain break down of charges and is unhelpful in understanding how the plan is beneficial."
"Took my dog in who has recently sounded congested and sneezing a lot. Also she has bumps on her skin that has been tested and diagnosed as a immune disorder. Dog was at Banfield the whole day - cost was $400.Got nothing for her sneezing and congestion. No diagnosis just told to bring her back if anything changes. I brought her in to prevent her from getting worse. The doctor said they requested records from vet who ran skin test, but hadn't received by the time doctor called me. I asked the doctor if she'd be in tomorrow, she said yes - as I was hoping for some diagnosis, soon. Upon picking up my dog I confirmed the Vet Tech (who gave me a ointment to put on my dog skin) if the Dr. would be in the next day - she said no. I don't understand why the doctor wasn't forthright with providing more of a time line. I'm still worried about my dog and out $400 for a visit that should've been around $150. I've been a customer of Banfield (in different locations) throughout the years with my 6 year old pup. It's not always consistently great service, but my dog has never been sick. So therefore, the service (for vaccinations, flee & tick prevention, teeth cleaning, and standard wellness visits) have sufficed. I typically don't write negative reviews as I don't want to hurt any ones business. However, I really thought I'd feel better (after our visit) as there would be more care shared. I was willing to spend even more money - if that's what it took to make sure my pup was in solid health. Unfortunately, now I just feel like money wasted and that we weren't taken seriously."
"I have waited to make this review until my cat was finally in the clear. I found a stray cat who was very sick. We went to this Banfield and they were so unbelievably unhelpful. This was a time sensitive issue, my cat was literally on the brink of death, and they really did not seem to care at all. They gave her a completely unnecessary and expensive x ray. They didn’t have any advice, and quoted us $6-7k to check her in overnight to “try and figure out what was wrong”, but said we should probably put her down. I don’t want to discredit the schooling a vet goes through, but a quick Google search told me what was wrong with accuracy. I am so SO glad we got a second opinion. It’s been about a month, and the second vet we went to has been so kind and helpful and, for nowhere NEAR $6k, my cat got the procedure and treatment she needed. This includes all the medication, prescription food, all post procedure check ups, and all the bloodwork she’s gotten. ALL of that combined for a fraction of the cost quoted from Banfield just to check her in overnight to diagnose her, not even to treat her. The second vet was appalled by the lazy behavior from this vet. They do not care about your pet. They just want your money and for you to sign up for their plan. So beyond disappointing. My cat would be dead right now if I didn’t go to a second vet for another opinion. I will never go to another Banfield again."
