H&R Block 1717 North 45th Street, Seattle, WA 98103

"They have different hours online, on the door, and when you call to make an appointment. Through online I was able to make an appointment at this location but when I got there they weren’t open. Why are you allowing appointments to be scheduled when the location isn’t even open? I made a new appointment then called the number I received in the confirmation text to double check and was told I called the Northgate location and the woman was annoyed that I questioned the opening hours of the Wallingford location. On top of that, the new appointment I had made that I wanted to confirm wasn’t on file/ they aren’t actually open that day… so made another appointment on the phone. Hopefully I actually get to see someone because I need help with a letter I received from the IRS, but this process to just schedule an appointment is ridiculous."

"I've been coming to this location for 10 years and I went to drop off my taxes today and the receptionist wouldn't take my information. She said they were all booked up. I said i realize i'm late but i don't care when they get done and she said they're booked up. And I said 'Forever?" and she said 'Yes". Wow. So I left and went to the Ballard branch where I received excellent service and they took my documents and information assigned me a tax professsional."

"We had our 2020 amendment filed wrong multiple times here. Even the final one was wrong - we expected a refund based on the work done at H&R Block and instead got a bill from the IRS months later. Kathi P did a wonderful job with the detective work to figure out what happened (the only reason I’m giving two stars is she’s wonderful). Would steer clear of Chris Perkins. He made careless mistakes that we had to point out. The customer service line has required multiple calls to follow up on our complaint (they say you’ll hear in 3-5 days but it’s been 6 weeks now). It’s been 1.5 years since we filed the first amendment and we’re still dealing with the mess. Will honestly never use any H&R Block services again."

"tried to get help with a filing that H&R block submitted on my behalf but that the IRS said they didn't receive. Filed at a diferent H&R block with a different tax pro who was furloughed. Tried to rush me off the phone and lay all of the responsibility on me after paying for their services. Also gave me lots of reasons they couldn't help because it was a different office that was closed now, and tax pro is not in the office... disappointing"

"Helen Brandling-Bennett was extremely helpful and walked me through my tax return. She was very pleasant and patient with me during my visit to H&R Block. I would definitely return in the future if my tax scenario next year is as complicated as my situation this recent year."
