"Though I sent info in advance about the type of return I needed as well as uploading the needed documents requested, the person I had my appt with at 2700 Sandy said she wasn’t qualified for what I needed. OK, things happen. She said she would pass my case along to a qualified person and I agreed I could work with her by phone. In subsequent messages, she told me two different times the person would get in touch with me. No calls, no messages, no reply to my last message. Decided to give them some time and wait till January. Still no messages or calls. I don’t know how they stay in business. I feel like I dodged a bullet."

"I had made a phone appointment with H & R Block for the first time to get a consultation. They not only called me 3 hours after the scheduled appointment, but when they finally did, the woman who worked there left an unapologetic brief message, claiming that she recommends giving consultations over text messages... She also stated that there might be fees for these messages that I would have to pay. I was appalled at the effort this company went to to be lazy. It was bad enough I couldn't have a person to person meeting to discuss my important affairs, but to deal with someone not even professional enough to SPEAK with me over the phone is completely unacceptable and callow."

"Extremely difficult to understand my preparer during my in-person visit. They tried to tell me I was wrong to enter the well-documented cost basis for an investment I liquidated - every tax preparer should understand capital gains, that’s very basic. Rushed through the whole process, I didn’t realize until later they missed a significant tax credit for the health insurance premiums I paid, although I provided the supporting documentation. If you wish to use their service I recommend you communicate with the preparer over messaging in their website. That way you have time to look things over with less pressure. They were okay in the past but I will be looking elsewhere next year."
