"This is for the the company, and unfortunately, it impacts this local office. Staff are nice and extremely patient and understanding of unique tax situations, that being said, they themselves are bound by the predacious policies of H & R Block. They will not tell you if your refund advance is approved beforehand, but they’ll go ahead and let you pay $400 for their fees to do your simple taxes for you, and get another sign up for their banking partner in the process. Our refunds are always large, and we’ve never had a refund advance denied before. This year it was denied within an hour of paying all of their fees (the unavoidable step to applying for a refund advance with them). To make it worse, it was a credit based decision by their bank. It’s a guaranteed loan, repaid directly by the federal government. There should be no credit check, and the staff need to be up front about this so people can make informed decisions. Avoid them at all costs for refund advances in the future, as their business practices are suspect."

"Made an appointment online, got a confirmation email for the appoint. When we arrived 15 minutes prior to our scheduled time, we were told that they didn’t have us scheduled (even after showing them the email), and that they were closing. We tried to book another appointment but was only given times in the middle of work days (noon and 1pm slots on week days). The only real help they gave us when we asked what we should do, we were specifically told “it is what it is” and “try somewhere else like across the street”. We found a Jackson-Hewitt a block up the road, went in there, booked an appointment for after work the next day, and are very happy with their services. Thank you H&R for suggesting Jackson-Hewitt!"

"Taxes are totally wrong. They didn't even file my Oregon taxes last year, stating I owed when I was supposed to be paid substantially. Than, this guy said you must not have paid enough, while my employer and unemployment were responsible for said taxes, then he stated what I received in 2021 should have been $650 over what I actually received, just a complete clown show. PLUS you pay them to do this, unprofessional to say the least. I would never go here again."
