"I don't write reviews nearly as much as some, but Ryan Alvaredes at My Tax Man is not a competant CPA. If you want to be Audited due to stupid omissions, this is your guy! Avoid this incompetant CPA, he will cost you a fortune and makes excuses. He should lose his license and he's also expensive for the JV work! Interestingly, I read his reviews of others and he has nothing good to say about anyone wherever he goes, just s#its on everyone and everything. What a miserable existance of a half pint man"
"I am appalled at the lack of customer service I received from Ryan at My Tax Man. I called their office to ask a simple tax question and was cut off mid-sentence and asked, "are you a client?" in which I answered that I was not. And he responds with "I can't help you" and hangs up. I immediately call back to ask his name, which he hesitates and states it is Ryan. I told him that it was extremely rude and unprofessional to just hang up on me. And he responds: "it is April 14th; I don't have a second to help anyone who is not a client, and it is rude that you called". I cannot believe that I just had this interaction. Absolutely unacceptable. Your response to my review is equally unprofessional. I was a new to your business, and I was never asked about becoming a client. You didn't have a second to help a new client but had a second to respond to my review. I promise you will NEVER have my business or the business of my family and friends. Good luck!"
"I can not express my gratitude for Ryan & Jae Ann. They do all of our tax services including business, personal, and payroll. Ryan answers all of our questions in person and over email without judgement and makes us better understand taxes. Tax season usually gives me a lot of anxiety and these people definitely make you feel at ease and like you’re in good hands. They let us run our business without thinking about the complicated part of taxes and bookkeeping. I highly recommend their services personal or business they literally make life exponentially easier. Plus their services are incredibly affordable for all they do in my opinion. Do yourself a favor and see what they can do for you personally or your business."
"I have found Ryan absolutely knowledgable, courteous and available for myriads of questions I had when I first started using his tax service after my father left the family a complicated estate to settle. When my father's highly paid CPA was dropping the ball, Ryan set it right by giving us the information we needed to have to rattle his cage and provide us the right forms. Mind you, much of this business of ours was done via emails, for which he never charged me. I don't write many reviews, but after seeing a recent disgruntled post assailing his knowledge, I can tell you that my experience was just the opposite, when pretty complicated (for me, anyway) issues came up having to do with real estate holdings in other states, IRA's, stocks, bonds, a business, what was taxable, what was not. I've gotta say, what he did for me pretty much trumps knowing an arcane tax code form number. Now, I have to get back to getting this year's taxes ready for him!"
"I called this firm to come in and get help with some tax questions. Ryan did not know what a 72(t) withdrawal was without consulting the tax code (early IRA withdrawal w/out penalty, not something obscure) and then told me because I wasn't referred by a current customer, they weren't interested in my business, even though their website says they are "almost always" taking new customers. He then tried to tell me it is common for businesses not to take new customers that don't know current customers - really? Most businesses would not last long if that were the case. I wanted to use this firm due to it's specialization in individual taxes and it's proximity to my home; obviously I am going elsewhere."
