"Always kind, honest and professional. Our animals love the staff, and the ability to have our large and small animals seen at the same clinic is invaluable!"
"Vets seem to know what they are doing and they genuinely care for their patients. Make sure you check your bill carefully. Last time they added a charge for urgent care (40.00) when I had scheduled my appointment a week in advance."
"Very busy Veterinary Practice. I had to wait a while to check in and out. I appreciated the call from the veterinarian as I was informed of lab results and the outcome of the procedures. I did not feel as if the vet needed to hurry thru the phone call to move on. I was pleased that a tech came out and discussed again the procedure, expectations in the next couple of days, medications, and asked if I had any questions. I was happy that all that was done before bringing out my pets. I felt that my dog was cared for as she is tiny and underwent a surgical procedure. I had mentioned to the tech that the previous year, my dog had an allergic reaction following the same procedure the next day. He did go back and discussed it with the doctor. I liked the follow-up, though I was disappointed that there were apparently no notes in her chart that I had reported it last year. I was also a little annoyed that my female dog was referred to by the vet as a male, though I had corrected him previously in an email. A quick look at my account would have identified her gender for the doctor prior to talking with me. Overall, I am satisfied with Tahoma Veterinary Hospital."
"I recently took my Terrior and Weiner dog mix into the Tahoma Vetranarian Clinic to get vaccines at 3 months old. She was born with a hernia and the Vet said I should have it fixed when I have her spayed. When she turned 6 months old I called them for a quote. They emailed me one and I accepted it. I called them and made an appt. They called me the day before and said to have her there at 8:15am and no food after 8pm the night before and no water after midnight. I took her in the next morning and they told me how much I should expect to pay when I pick her up. I told them that it was way more than they had quoted me. So I had to go back home and get the quote they gave me and take it back to the clinic. By 1pm I was starting to get worried because I had not heard from them. I waited untill 3:30pm and called them because I was very concerned . The receptionist went to check on her and said they were preparing her to take her to surgery at that moment. I was not happy at all with this. She said it was because they were busy with emergencies all day. Could there really be 8 hours of emergencies in one town? Another 2 hours went by and by now I'm freaking out, my poor little dog had no water or food since the day before and was locked up in a kennel all day. Why didn't they just have me bring her in later if they weren't going to do her surgery untill last appt of the day. I called at 5:30 and asked if she was ready and they told me to go ahead and come to get her.. Finally got a call at5:45 telling me to pick her up at 6pm when they close. I said I was already on my way. When I got there I watched the vet come out and talk to 2 other dog owners and they told me he would be out to talk to me, but he never did. They brought me my puppy and I almost cried! They handed me her limp little body obviously she was still knocked out from the surgery. When I got home and looked at the surgery area it looked like a mess! She had sticky stuff all over her feet and legs. They didn't even have time to clean her up. On the quote they gave me there was a lower end price and a higher end price. I was charged the higher end even though on the paperwork it said that the surgery went without any issues. I wouldn't recommend this Vet clinic to any one unless you have a large animal, as they cater to the larger animals. That's why my little dog went last. The larger the animal the larger the bill. They are only in it for the money, not because they care about animals. It says right on their quote... Emergencies for little animals til 10pm and large animals 24/7. So if your little animal has an emergency after 10pm it will die."
"I was recommended to Tahoma vet by 2 separate friends that had a less than desirable care routine/experience at another clinic we all were using in a neighboring town. I have 2 boxers that are aging but have been in great health. Aside from annual shots they haven't required frequent routine care. Now that they are aging and one with a suspected torn ccl- they recently needed vet care. I initially liked the idea of this vet clunic because they are a large animal clinic that made me feel like there would be a good network of knowledge and experience at a place like this. We were paired up with Dr Suzannah Strauss. I want to thank Dr Strauss for your knowledge and care for my girls. She helped me get 1 diagnosed with a ccl tear and is supportive with my decision to try medicines and a conservative management approach due to newly diagnoses heart murmur etc. I also very much appreciate her taking the time to recommend supplements and otc products (such as joint supplements, products to help with itching and dental care at home) that I can easily find online. Shortly after our check up, the other pup came down with what seemed like an upper respitory infection. Dr Strauss promptly called me back and got her set up with meds to help combat her cold. It was a low stress experience and shes all better now. I have anxiety for some professions such as vets, mechanics and car salesmen etc. Thank you Dr Strauss for your course of care, experience and recommendations. When I left my appt. I felt empowered and was helped with the concerns I had for my girls. I also had some additional tools to help my girls as they age."
