Edmonds-Westgate Veterinary Hospital P.S.

"I just moved to Edmonds a few months ago and about two months post-move, my dog started limping. We didn’t have a primary vet up here yet so we went to this vet, Edmonds Westgate. It was easy to make an appointment the same day I noticed the limping, which is the only saving grace of this clinic. Upon bringing him in, they said they would give him some medicine for pain and inflammation and if it doesn’t improve in a week, come back for x-rays. We scheduled an appointment, brought him in around 7:45 am, and were told he should be done around noon, before their lunch break. We didn’t get to pick him up until 5pm. I’m less upset about how long it took, I understand things happen, unexpected complications can arise, and sometimes you’re understaffed. But at no point did anyone give a courtesy call as to how his expected time of finish was going to be later than originally thought. That was on a Friday. We were told x-rays should be read mid-day Saturday, to call again then. So we did, and then they said they weren’t quite finished, to call again on Monday. So we did, and then they said they weren’t quite finished, to call again on Tuesday. So we did, and then they said they weren’t quite finished yet, to call again on Wednesday. At this point, I refused to call again, asking to be put on hold until I could speak with the doctor. Less than three minutes later, I was connected and she emailed me and explained to me the x-ray report. After reviewing the email, the x-ray reports had been done since Saturday. We had to bring him to an emergency vet recently, requiring a lot of tests, x-rays, and a very extensive surgery. The emergency vet (VEG of Lynnwood, great place) contacted Edmonds Westgate, my primary vet, to send my dog’s medical records and Edmonds Westgate said they had no record of him. The emergency vet asked me to call them, so I did. In that call, the receptionist remembered my dog and I and explained that she could “try” to get his records from the emergency vet. Overall, I just feel a lack of compassion for my dog and I, which they preach that they prioritize, and communication. I understand that it could have just been a stressful time and that all the errors and mistakes happened to me, but it’s not a good feeling. I was debating on switching my vet, but after the recent incident regarding records, I will not bring my animals back here. If he has no records, what did I pay upwards of $1000 for?"

"Moved here from another state, and after spending over $300 to establish care here so I could fill my dog's much needed pain meds, they are now leaving me hanging with my poor dog suffering. I don't care how understaffed you are, you follow through! Not cool you guys, not cool. Update: Within an hour of posting this review, I was contacted by veterinary staff AND the doctor, and they have called his Rx in. Very much appreciated. However, should not have to post a negative review to get them to respond when my animal is suffering. Jury is still out and I will give them another go to see if we can work it out."

"Our dog Bobby Joe has been coming here for years. He always gets great love and attention from the staff and the doctor. Today we brought in our beloved friend for the final time. From the moment we entered, everyone there treated us with incredible gentleness and grace. Our final moments with Bobby Joe were peaceful and meaningful because the team gave us the space to grieve and say goodbye, even while doing the difficult task they had to do. They really honored us and most of all they honored Bobby Joe. We’re so grateful and we’ll never forget your kindness."

"Dog had ear infection. Vet. Doc handled dog gently, gained pet's trust almost instantly. Vet. Tech. same, gentleness. Although they were very busy, we were not rushed by efficient friendly staff. Highly recommend this Vet Hospital and its team!"
