"I received the horseshoe knife class as a birthday gift. The class was taught by Nick. What a great way to spend a few hours learning how to craft a knife from a horseshoe and use your hands to make something useful. The resulting knife was quite sharp after I finished sharpening at home but be aware the metal isn't stainless so this knife will need frequent sharpening if you intend to use it regularly. I'd highly recommend for any adult group looking for a creative afternoon event in Seattle."
"We had an amazing time at Lawless Forge. The instructor was really good at walking us through the steps. The three hours flew by and at the end we had a finished knife that turned out better than expected."
"My son (14) and I went to Lawless Forge and had a great time! We did the horseshoe knife class and came home with a couple of awesome knives. The class was three hours long and went by quickly. Our instructor Spiff was engaging and made it fun, and he is obviously very experienced and knowledgeable. He provided really useful guidance and feedback throughout the class; at one point I made a mistake, but he showed me exactly how to correct it. It was neat to see the metal move and learn a little about this lost art. The shop is very cool! Lots of character with old anvils and cranes throughout. Overall the experience was awesome. We spent the drive home trying to figure out a way to go back next weekend, and my son wants a forge at home to try more blacksmithing projects. Highly recommend!"
"When trying to find something to do for my husband’s 50th birthday I found Lawless Forge. Turns out this was the perfect birthday activity with the family. Spiff made it seem possible that we could all make knives and we did! He was entertaining and was there to help us when we needed it. We are already discussing when we can go back. Thanks for a great experience, Spiff and Lawless Forge!"
"Had no prior experience but had such an amazing first experience at lawless forge. We took the horseshoe knife class! Shout out to our amazing instructor Sam! Safety instructions were on point and the pacing of the class was perfect. Sam was always around to answer questions, provide tips, and will also hop in if you needed extra help! He is passionate about his job and you can tell through seeing the detail of work on his own knives and trinkets that he carry on him! He even provides visual drawings on chalkboard and live demonstrations to help explain the process clearly!"
