"The instructors can be really good with the kids. Our son used to love it here when he started. But everything has changed since we signed our contract. Our son was really excited about sparring and I bought him all the sparring gear. I grew up in martial arts, learning taekwondo, tang soo do, and kung fu. I want my son to learn to have fun with it and also learn to use it properly. We used to attend free open sparring sessions on Saturdays. Now they've made it so you have to pay additional fees to join in sparring, and it's only on Fridays when he has another class he goes to. In the past year or so, the focus seams to have shifted from the kids to their parents pockets instead. I get that prices of everything have skyrocketed and you have to do what you have to do. But we didn't sign up for this. My son is discouraged and rarely wants to even go to class anymore. It's sad. He used to love it. The structure has gotten a little weak too. I would prefer them to start out with a bit of stretches and warm up, then work on kicks and punches, then forms with more focus on energy and accuracy. Instead, there are days it's just running games and other days they only touch on forms briefly at the end. A more uniform structured class would be nice so the kids all learn evenly. You come to the classes you can, but you never know what you're gonna get. That can make preparing for testing difficult for the kids. Then the instructors tell the parents they need to work on stuff at home. We pay to have them teach him, not us."
"Great place! Really focused on the growth of each learner. Everyone in staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They take it seriously and push the kiddos to grow but light and fun which makes them love it. My 10yo started not very motivated and she has gotten better and excited to continue learning. We tried a different tkwd place before and there’s no comparison. These classes a little pricey but so so worth it! Highly recommend!"
"Very disciplined classes for a varied age groups. Masters are present and participating with students. Creates great depth of character. Well worth the value paid by subscriber parents."
"Our family has really enjoyed learning taekwondo at Taekwondo Way. The specific belt color classes are available in the afternoons and evenings fit into OUR schedule with no pressure. The family classes let kids and parents spend time together. The individual attention allows the instructors to balance challenging young students and recognizing their accomplishments and efforts . The student to instructor ratio is never more than 3 to 1. Classes at Taekwondo Way always leave us wanting to come back for more."
"I can't begin to say how impressed I am with Taekwondo Way. I have 3 kids ranging from 6 to 9 and they are all loving the curriculum there. They are learning focus, confidence and self control. All the masters and instructors are amazing with the kids. One of my kids is on the spectrum, and they go out of their way to make him feel included and encouraged. I can't say enough good things about Taekwondo Way."
