"Not worth the money. We signed my 6-year-old up for weekly 1-hour horseback riding lessons (5-6pm) for $190 a month. Only 15-20 minutes was ever actually spent on the horse. We would wait around for 20 minutes at the beginning of every lesson for the kids before us to finish their lessons before my daughter would get to start her lesson. She would then spend about 15-20 minutes on the horse, and the instructor would then end the lesson about 20 minutes early (around 5:40pm). I took my daughter to most of the lessons and would often run a few minutes late, but I never felt like this was much of an issue since even when getting there late we would have to wait 15-20 minutes for the lesson before her’s to finish. It’s not like we were keeping them later than we were paying for either because the instructor was ending the lessons by 5:40pm when we had signed up for a 5-6pm time slot. After about 2 months of this, my wife took my daughter to a lesson and asked the instructor why the lessons were ending early. The instructor, who had always been cordial with me, became defensive, blamed us for showing up late for lessons, and said they had to cut the lessons short because the horses were getting tired and hungry. She was very condescending and rude to my wife about this and left her in tears. I am very upset that this instructor felt that it was ok to treat my wife this way. She could have at least addressed it with me first if my running a few minutes late for lessons that were starting 20 minutes late anyway was really that much of an issue. As much as my daughter enjoyed the 20 or so minutes she spent horseback riding during the weekly hour-long lesson we were paying $190 per month for, I am very disappointed by the lack of professionalism, communication, and honesty of the Four Star farms staff. I hope they can do better in the future."
"Love, Love, LOVE this place! We take our 2 young daughters to ride ponies, and one of our daughters received therapy there. Sharon and Sholeah have always been very accommodating, kind, helpful and honest as well as all the other amazing staff that work and help out there. We are so grateful to have found them, and very much appreciate what they are doing, and have done for our family! If you are looking for horseback lessons, or equine assisted therapies, I can not recommend Four Star Farm enough!"
"Granddaughter loves this place...the owner and staff of young women are wonderful. It truly is a hidden gem....lessons of life are taught here too..not just horse riding ~linda Four years later and we are still here and still loving it! This farm is a wonderful place. The owner is a gem and the staff are knowledgeable and professional. We continue to learn more about horsemanship and care. At this farm you are expected to clean and care for the horses. If all you want to do is ride in a circle and never truly ride a horse ...wait until there is a pony ride day...if you want to learn how meaningful a relationship can be with a horse-Four Star Farm is for you! In the four years we have been here we have witnessed Sharon open her house to kids with so many issues- lack of guidance/parental involvement...school discipline issues...financial issues. She has opened her barn to rescue horses...horses that people gave up on...this farm saves lives..human and horse! If you want your kids to learn life lessons on responsibility...selflessness....compassion-we look forward to seeing you at the bunkhouse...come become Farm Family it is worth every minute!"
"We have been taking lessons at Four Star Farm for a few months, and we love it. The kids get to learn about cleaning up after horses and their stalls, tacking up, safety, and of course, riding. Sharon is so warm and welcoming, and this farm has a family feel. We’ve made many friends and gained so much from our time here, and we hope to continue coming to Four Star Farm far into the future."
"Cara is a very knowledgeable and encouraging teacher. Our daughter loves the school. Instruction offers a whole experience for her - from grooming, cleaning, and caring for horses, to leading and riding. She's visibly gained confidence and skills over the past year. I recommend this school to others."
