Reviews of Bainbridge Diamonds & Jewelry
"I have had a watch battery replaced and two gold rings resized. Frank was pleasant to deal with and the work was well done. Knowing how long he has been in business in Bainbridge was reassuring."
"I walked into the store on Friday for a battery replacement in my late father's watch. Frank was very professional and gracious while helping me right away. He is very fair and generous with his customers."
"They stole my mint coin and gave me a full coin back with black smudges. He took advantage of me. Small claims court here we come he even offered to pay me $900 because he said my coin was fake. Needless to say he disappeared twice with my coin and gave me back a pathetic replica of my shiny brand. New untouched coin worst experience ever."
"BEWARE- I received a few quotes for watch repair from different Jewelers. (300-1200 range) Just moved to Bainbridge and saw this shop downtown. Never would assume a standing shop in Bainbridge would be questionable. Took in my husbands Rolex with a broken Bezel. Owner Frank told me he could fix it up nice in no time. That was over 11 months ago. I have called repeatedly. Never get calls back. When I did talk to someone it was never clear. Told multiple times it was almost done. Finally it is done. My husband goes to pick it up today and the man hands him a 6,000 dollar invoice!!!!!! No call no ask. When I dropped it almost a year ago I said fix it, also sharing the range I heard before. My husband asked for cost, itemization, nothing. Stay far away from this place unless you wish to be scammed!"
"I took my wedding ring here after a freak accident - catching my hand in a ceiling fan blade which bent one of the prongs on my ring and caused the stone to fall out. I found this jewelry shop via Google, having just moved to the island, and rushed down just before closing on a Thursday evening. I can't speak much of my initial interaction with the jeweler and his associate because I was wrecked over damaging my wedding ring. It wasn't clear to me exactly what the jeweler would do to fix my ring - but I did get an estimated price for repairs and an approximate date it would be ready. "Sometime next week." I went home and THEN started reading reviews. My God, I wish I hadn't. So many of these reviews are absolutely horrible. It's really something how much time people have on their hands trying to imply that the reviews are faked. Maybe they are? I have to ask myself why a local business that's been around since 2005 would do that? It's not like people are coming from all over the country to buy jewelry on Bainbridge Island. I digress. Someone else said that she never received her item back from the jeweler after months on end? Naturally I went into a blind panic. My wedding ring is about as inexpensive as they come - but it is absolutely priceless to me. I was so terrified I'd never get my ring back because of that one review - which looking back is totally absurd. I hope the shop owner addresses this egregious claim. I picked my ring up yesterday - it took a week as promised. The jeweler was incredibly friendly, which I mention because I wasn't halfway to a meltdown this time. He actually fixed my setting - the prongs weren't tailored for the stone (it's a James Allen ring) which is probably why one bent so easily. You could say "oh he pulled a fast one on you" but no, I don't believe he did. There is a noticeable difference and improvement in how the stone sits now. I had a great experience aside from being spooked by the profoundly negative reviews here. My unsolicited advice is to take them with a few grains of salt. This business has been around for 20 years...you don't survive that long by ripping off customers and treating them badly."
