"Great local gym and fitness center. It's not brand new but it is clean and much better kept up than most gyms that have newer buildings. Staff is always friendly and I find the other reviews to be quite petty but that's just how some people are. I wish they accepted credit cards or electronic payments but they are old school (to be fair, a lot of small businesses in the PDX area are that way. But it's a simple fix to pay electronically through your bank and not bother with cash or checks."

"0 stars. Very unwelcoming. I came in wanting a tour. And was very hopeful to sign up. One of the front desk ladies walked us around, but it must have been such an inconvenience for her because she was disgruntled the entire time. Gave us very little detail about anything. The whole tour lasted maybe 3 mins. As we were rushed from one area to another. The place its self is super run down. For a hefty initiation cost. Plus monthly fee. You’d think they could update the equipment. Because it’s straight from the 70-80s. When the tour ended she handed us the price sheet and just went back behind the counter. I left without even saying thanks. The whole experience left me pissed off. And with a bad taste in my mouth. Adding this so they can’t gate keep their membership pricing it was $280 initiation and $180 a month for a family. I know people join for the outdoor pool. But I don’t even know how it’s in regulation. Because it was just dirty and underwhelming."

"Our membership at Lakeshore Athletic Club spans a few years, and despite the facilities exuding a charming, somewhat dated ambiance, there's an undeniable allure that consistently draws our family back. The staff consistently exceeds expectations, going above and beyond to create a welcoming atmosphere that turns every visit into a positive experience. Into delve into my engagement with the facilities. The two basketball gyms have become a standout feature for me. When it comes to equipment, Lakeshore Athletic Club certainly doesn't fall short. The variety of Hammer Strength, Body Master, and Graviton machines caters to a spectrum of workout preferences. Additionally, the gym showcases an impressive array of dumbbells, ranging from 5 to 100 lbs. While the facility may not boast the latest in cutting-edge technology, it compensates with essential equipment like 1 Squat Rack, 1 Olympic Rack, and a Smith Machine."

"Cons: Unprofessional rude front desk people. The front desk guy asking for the reason of dropping out attitude was “Whatever”. You can not pay using a credit card. Yes, they actually ask you for cash or a check in 2023! If you are busy and you don’t get to use the facility for a month and decide to pay them later when you are actually there, they will keep fining you with late payment fees and again with extra fees, etc. Facility is very old . Web photos are not a true representation of the current state of the things. Pools are dirty. My toddler found two bandaids in the pool the other day. Gyms are always occupied with other programs . You would think a basketball court is for playing basketball but you will get disappointed. You can smell sweat odor in the workout area."

"I have been a member here for almost 20 years. LSAC is an icon here in the neighborhood, having been at the same location for more than 50 years. Racquetball courts, and indoor and outdoor pool , outdoor tennis courts, 2 gyms a workout room, weight room and treadmill room are just some the features of this neighborhood club LSAC has a comfortable , family feel to the club. Definitely a different vibe than an LA fitness club or Planet Fitness facilities. Knowledgeable , friendly and helpful staff have always been a hallmark of this club. Recent years have shown the age of the club. The workout machines are a bit dated. There always seems to be a roof leak or two happening during the winter rainy season. A coat of paint and a general refresh are definitely called for in a big way. All said, LSAC is a convenient club staffed by friendly helpful staff."
