Olympia Pool Table Movers

"Let me start from the beginning. Somebody that lives down the road from me is selling a pool table. I reached an agreement to buy the table but I would need to have it moved professionally. I emailed Olympia Pool Table Movers for a quote. They asked me a bunch of questions about the table which I answered (including that it is a 1 piece slate). I even sent them pictures of the table. They responded with the following: "Thank you once again for contacting us and for taking the time to give me the details we need. Below you will find the quote along with some useful information. For a service like this, our technician will have to completely disassemble your table from top to bottom, removing the pockets, rails, felt, 1pc of slate, frame, and legs. We then load it into our vehicle to transport it to the new location. Once it's there, we properly install and level the table from the bottom up; first, we assemble the legs and frame and get it leveled. We smooth out the surface and apply the existing felt back on the table. For a complete move reusing cloth, our technician will charge a total of $1085 split into two easy payments" Seemed a little expensive but I understand it is a lot of work to disassemble a pool table and then put it back together so no problem. We agreed on a date that was good for me and the seller of the pool table. We arranged a call to do a down payment. During the call the guys all of a sudden says he has to call me back. He never called me back and send the following email: "We are going to, unfortunately, cancel the appointment. Our installer is not doing 1pc slate moves anymore. ​ I apologize for the inconvenience, if you have any questions please let me know." So they cancelled out of nowhere after I had arranged a date with the seller and had provided all the requested information. They gave me a quote and backed out after. I find this to be very very unprofessional. Given the way they operate business I cannot recommend these guys for any pool table move. I understand the issue with a 1 piece slate but if that was a problem they should have stated that up front. Unacceptable!"

"Don't let the Google listing fool you- this is NOT a local company. I called and got a quote to move a pool table about 30 miles, and I could have just about bought a new table for what they were going to charge. I started calling moving companies hoping to find someone cheaper, but no one would move a pool table. Thankfully, one of the companies suggested I call Golden West Games, which I hadn't even thought of because they're in Tacoma (which was about an hour from where I was moving from.) But I called them, and even with the higher mileage to get to my old house, their price was about half of what I got from this company. Golden West also told me that this company is actually a national company that farms out the jobs to local pool table movers like them. They don't actually do any of the moving themselves. Save yourself some money and skip the middleman, and hire someone local instead!"
