"Dangerous. Would not recommend at all. My first concern is when I had to pre-pay 240 some dollars but they do not email you a confirmation or provide any confirmation as proof that you’ve secured their services. I found myself nervous for the whole month before my surgery and I kept calling them and hoping that I didn’t accidentally fell for a scam. I had an outpatient procedure almost 25 miles away from my home that included general anesthesia (four major procedures that included cutting up bones in my leg and putting pins and plates). I followed their instructions, which was to provide the nurse information as to how to contact them for my will call service. The nurse called as they were getting me dressed for discharge, and the nurse was told to meet the driver out front. The driver also called my phone to leave a message saying he was out front but no one coming out of general anesthesia has the capacity to check their phone so I found that very much a customer service disconnect. The nurse and I waited on the sidewalk next to their clearly marked van that was open, but the driver was nowhere to be found. We were out there for about 10 minutes when he came out of the building and started shutting up the van. The nurse identified herself and asked him if he was taking me or not and he said no “dispatch has sent me another job” and he showed us his phone. To my disbelief, he was actually going to leave me on a sidewalk in the freezing temperatures while I was stapled into two hospital gowns because the office had threatened that if I wasn’t on that sidewalk, they would leave me. They didn’t even have time to finish dressing me. It wasn’t the drivers fault that the office assigned him another job, but if he was supposed to be out front, he should’ve been out front. He said he was inside at some desk. Medstar is banana pants. Since they threatened to leave me there if we weren’t outside on that sidewalk the nurses panicked and rushed me outside so my purse was actually left inside after the driver demanded that I had to get in the van immediately or be left behind. I had to actually leave my purse and phone at the facility and wait over a day for my son to have a day off and go get it so I had no cell phone with me and it left me in a very dangerous situation. Plus, stuff is stolen all the time in hospitals which I know because I work in one. I paid over $240 for this. I checked the state regulations and pretty much anyone can set up shop with very little regulation. Check references, licenses and check insurance before ever hiring a “cabulance”."
"First experience was not great as the female driver drove way too fast (81) in a 70 MPH zone. Called and spoke with manager who was apologetic and really listened. Hopefully the driver will get another chance to improve her driving. Was reluctant to use again but was very happy with the second experience. Our second ride was with Eli who was a very helpful, courteous and professional driver. He was attentive asking if my mom was warm and comfortable enough. Very enjoyable ride. Drive the speed limit and paid attention to his surroundings. Thanks Eli"
"There are several drivers who are amazing, but there have been times where they have been 1 hr late recently 2 hrs late. It's not set up like a Taxi. Each driver takes on so many jobs and sometimes traffic and previous clients they pick up can cause your trip to be delayed."
"Thank you mercy! Today I went for my first dialysis treatment and I was nervous. They say that you get used to it but I’m so used to my own schedule that I was naturally nervous. Well, I tell you that mike, my driver, took all my anxiety away. He was so cordial and told me stories of all the patients he transports and that there is nothing to worry about! Mike was a great driver and the van was nice. I hope to use mercy every time and hope to see you again mike! Ps. Dialysis was not that bad .. I’m getting used to it now!!"
"Mercy transportation picked my husband up three times a week for a year. They were always on time and helped him in and out of the house and into the kidney center. They were so nice and even became really close friends with his driver! Highly recommended!"
