"I've had laser hair removal three times and fraxel twice. I understand these are students, but the school does not provide an appropriate amount of time for appointments. I asked for my face and neck both times at fraxel and both times they didn't have enough time to complete the treatments. The first time the student was just extremely slow and they didn't get to my neck. The second time my appointment started 30 minutes late despite me arriving 15 minutes early, and the instructor had to finish my neck. All that said, it's a good deal, and Krista (one of the instructors) is great."
"Emily M. Sabbagh Is the instructor to this facility. She went to dental school, but she is not a dermatologist. I felt very uncomfortable when she asked very personal questions that were not related to the treatment. It was uncomfortable to be asked these questions in front of 5 other students. It was also upsetting because she spent more time asking personal/work questions than any true medical questions that would be important for the treatment. It was over an hour of questions that felt like an interrogation. In the end, I was asked the proper medical questions and was denied treatment due to my responses. I respect the fact that I was denied treatment, but the fact that it took over an hour to finally be asked those proper medical questions is what upset me. That should have been the first thing asked. It would have saved the students time as well. Students who pay money to become aestheticians at this school. Everyone’s time was wasted, including mine. Emily also pulled out her phone during our session to look up my dermatologist. She started reading out loud about what she had found on him. She also recommended me to get a second opinion from a different dermatologist who is not my regular dermatologist because she says, “he doesn’t know what he’s doing.” Mind you that my dermatologist is board certified who’s specializes in evaluating patients with severe medical skin concerns while Emily went to dental school."
"If you were to make an appointment for a treatment that couldn't be done on people with specific health conditions, you'd expect to be told about it early in the process, right? If not while making the appointment, then certainly after disclosing it on a health history form that included not only your own but your family's health history. Because who would want to have students prepare materials and equipment for a client they won't be allowed to treat? Apparently Washington Laser Institute does. Two months ago I made an appointment for microneedling in October. A week after making the appointment I completed their health history form where they asked about two connective tissue disorders, one of which I reported that I had in addition to contact allergies to several ingredients common in skin care products. At the appointment, neither the student doing my intake nor the supervising instructor indicated that either of those would be a problem for microneedling when we discussed them. But after they presented my case to Dr. Sabbagh, she informed me that between the two issues, I was disqualified from any treatment offered at the clinic. Why was I only finding this out while I was sitting in the clinic, surrounded by five students and an instructor with a microneedling device prepared and ready to use sitting next to me? Because Dr. Sabbagh likes to evaluate clients like they do patients in medical school rounds and only reviews a client's health history during the appointment. If they had booked me for a consultation I'd feel very different, but both the students and I were expecting a microneedling treatment to be done that day. Instead, I had Dr. Sabbagh, who by her own admission had spent mere minutes reviewing my health history, dismissively explain my diagnoses to me in front of half a dozen people and suggested that I see specialists and get treatments that I've already pursued before indicating that she was doing me a favor by refusing to treat me. The better favor from Dr. Sabbagh would have been to teach students and staff to screen clients like me out well before my appointment instead of letting me take time off of work and drive for an hour only to be publicly humiliated and demeaned. If she wishes to treat clients this way, she can pay a professional patient actor to put up with such behavior. And since she doesn't permit students to work on anything but ideal clients, screening them is a skill they will need to develop since they will have no experience working on anything but. In spite of my negative experience with Dr. Sabbagh, the students and staff at the clinic were very courteous and professional. It's unfortunate that like me, their time and efforts were wasted preparing for an appointment that never should have happened."
"I got my lips filled for the first time ever. My experience was incredible. The front staff are very friendly and welcoming. Very clean and fancy establishment. The doctor was SO kind and comforting and made it almost painless. If you want the best experience I highly recommend coming here. Extremely professional and they have their patients best interest in mind. Thank you so much"
"I was treated by the students and their instructor and it really was the best experience. Everyone was very professional and it did not feel like students were working on me. It felt like well trained individuals, just with some extra bodies in the room with us. Already have the rest of my appointments booked out!"
