"Two years after Chipman moved us from Oregon to Tennessee, we’ve finally been able to get a house and unload our storage unit. All of our oil paintings, a bicycle, 2 rolling AC units (400 bucks each) and a card table have all disappeared. Who knows what little stuff us. And of course bc it was going into storage, we had to declare right away, the only thing we caught was our box of oil paintings bc we weren’t leaving those in storage due to heat. Hope the thieves aren’t still working for you."

"My move with Chipman Relocations was disastrous (and I have moved within and interstate multiple times, on average every 3 years). I would give them a 0 if I could. Two primary problems: 1) no shrink-wrap used leading to bad soiling, lost and damaged loose items, 2) lack of proper labeling/inventory, 3) inefficient packers. The first issue was the most vexing, as it led to unnecessary damage that could have easily been avoided. 1) Unlike all prior moves, the driver refused to use shrink wrap (claiming after the move that it was not standard). Only blankets and tape were used and only over furniture. The problem is that a) all loose items, including furniture pieces, blankets, rugs, carpeting, etc, were getting heavily soiled during the load and on the truck and b) loose items were left in some furniture or furniture with loose hardware, of which the loaders/driver were aware of, and these would be falling out during the move since blankets/tape were not sufficient to secure them. Furthermore, since the furniture is unfinished wood, the stains cannot be easily removed. When the items arrived, they were filthy and usable inside the house and would need to be replaced or professionally cleaned. I am looking at at least $800 of items affected by this, not to mention time it will take to replace. 2) The driver did not inventory several items, there were at least half a dozen boxes that were unlabeled. At least one item that was inventoried could not be located when the unload process was completed (10 hours). 3) It took packers 2 days (10-12hours each) to pack a 3000 sq foot home, where I still packed 2 of the bedrooms an all closets entirely myself. The efficiency and quality of packing was the worst I have ever seen. Some boxes were sagging, had items poking out of them, and some had to be repacked by myself or driver/load crew. I have yet to determine if there is damage inside."
