"The worst care and miscommunication I have ever experienced my life. This concern My son was supposed to have surgery done on his left wrist. Called us, checked in and everything.they put IV , gave my son surgery gown to wear and everything. Than told us we have to wait for hours and hours for the surgery because they already had 2 surgeries going on and it was already 7.30pm but we were in the room at 4.30 pm After that they told us that there is no guarantee that the surgery will be done today. After all the my son went thru. As a parent this was like stress. We were send home without my son’s surgery."
"In my opinion. Any five star review left for this hospital has to be fake. Ill just say this hospital is absolutely terrible. Anyone going here should get everything in writing (good luck) as the doctors will change weekly on you so there is never a clear path to recovery as evwrything will change at the start of the next week by a doctor that knows nothing about your situation then the next week changes again. Any questions they cant answer they will just verbally tell you what you want to hear or say they will find out because they know once a new week a new doctor and nothing the old one said matters anymore. also fix the elevators. You have families waiting for 30 minutes for the one working elevator. 9 floors one elevator. Of course staff have their own set so why fix the publics Notice all the posted signs boasting everything from how they are top in so many things from safety to their cafeteria (which is a joke). Notice they have zero references on them. Guess you can just put up signs saying your the best."
"This review is specifically for the Ruth J. Spear Breast Center. I arrived for my mammogram/ultrasound and upon check-in they offered a 10% discount if I paid the expense estimate on the spot, so I did. Going back for my appointment, the ultrasound tech told me "they likely won't even need to do the mammogram today", without even talking to me about my concerns/what had brought me to the appointment. The tech took ultrasound images then said she would show them to the doctor and see what the doctors recommendation was. The tech came back in and said I wouldn't need a mammogram, and that the lump in my breast was "probably" benign. That I am young and healthy and should just keep an eye on it. So I never even talked to a doctor, and had then paid for a mammogram I didn't receive. I went back to the front desk and explained I didn't receive a mammogram and requested a refund. The PR said I needed to call the Regional Billing Office to request a refund, and there was nothing she could do to help me. I then call the Regional Billing Office, make it through to a representative then the call is dropped, 5 TIMES. It took me an hour and a half of calling, sitting in a queue, getting a representative, call dropped, repeat. Overall horrible client care and absolutely no empathy or care in educating and assisting their patients. I used to work for Providence and this is a great reminder why I left."
"I've been having some health issues over the past few years and have had my share of stays at St. Vincent's... most recently, two multi-day stays in the IMCU this month alone, and a third visit but wasn't admitted. So you could say I've had a lot of interactions with the staff here, and I have to say that they are beyond 5 stars. Everyone treats you with dignity, they're polite, friendly, and very approachable. If you ask about your treatment, they'll stop and take the time to thoroughly answer your questions, and never seem annoyed or put out when you do. I really can't say enough good things about this hospital and its staff... they've literally been a life saver for me on more than one occasion, and they did it while treating me like part of their family. Also, their food is actually really good and nutritious!"
"I've been to the hospital with my husband more times this year than I'd like for sure. Including the ER twice. I really appreciate the quality care from all the folks in the ER, doctors, nurses, cardiologists, etc. 90% of the staff was excellent and there was only one bad nurse and one sub par doctor the entire time. Some went the extra mile to make us feel safe and comfortable, despite being extremely busy and stressed. In particular one of the ER nurses was so caring he stopped in after his shift to check on my husband and tell us goodbye. I hope that someday we can have universal healthcare and everybody get the care they need without worrying about finances. Oh, and I really enjoyed the vegan breakfast burritos in the cafeteria, it made my time there waiting for my husband to recover much more enjoyable."
