"Completed ATP’s fast track program in August and got the privilege to instruct for them at this location. There’s a reason ATP is among the best flight schools in the world. The level of safety at this school is second to none between the instructors, all the awesome staff at HQ, and the quality aircraft at every location, it’s easy to see why they get recommended almost every time you talk with airline pilots about schools. Oh and the views are incredible out here!"
"If you have the passion, and personal discipline to study aviation, you will go far at ATP. The program is very efficiently geared to channel you into a fruitful career in aviation. It certainly is work, and I don’t recommend beginning the program in the fall and winter months because flying here slows down. Other than that, you would be well served by the quality and investment of the instructors at ATP."
"I started the program with Private Pilot license on April 1st 2018 and started work as an instructor at ATP on April 1st 2019! I really enjoyed being a student at ATP for the flexibility, availability and supports. Given that it was a fast track program, it was challenging to keep up with studying, but If you got the passion, you can do it as well! I definitely recommend it."
"The school provides all the tools to be successful. Excellent aircraft with maintenance on site. If someone wants to springboard an aviation career, this is it. The hobby pilot would be better suited somewhere else."
"The casual or not in a rush client. ATP get a one star from me for this type of client. The reason why is because it is not for everyone it is tailored to a very specific individual in mind. If you are interested in only obtaining one or a few certificate at your leisure do not go here. It is very expensive you pay upfront and you are kind of locked in. I would say 75% of the instructors are not very patient and if they can get out of doing ground training they will. The instructors are paid by flight hour with a guaranteed monthly for ground. What I found is that if they can get you in the air you are going in the air regardless if you are keeping up with the knowledge portion. Another reason I don't recommend this program to everyone is because of the time commitment you will NEED to make. They are not kidding when they say this is a full time program. The Full Time Client ATP get a 5 star in this area. If you want to go from zero time to having all of your commercial certifications and three different instructor certificates then you have come to the right place. The program is laid out right in front of you from start to finish. You are provided with material before the first day of class to help you prepare for what you are about to jump into. Every single plane I got into was maintained to the highest of standards with the exception to the spin plane (just used for CFI Spin training, its old and just looks rough but still completely airworthy and maintained). The amount of material you have is far more than sufficient and on top of that ATP has a smart binder they set you up with of Fore Flight so you don't have to drag everything everywhere you go. My Experience with ATP Flight Schools: I trained out of the Tacoma Narrow location (KTIW) in Washington State. When I was there looking to gather information I got the information I was looking for, from there I got set up with a loan from one of their partners and once I was approved I was given a start date and instruction on what do next. At the time there is 32ish modules for you to complete two weeks prior to your start day. You go through all of these and take notes quizzes and just basic homework stuff. You do all of that, keep on studying and then day one roles around. Day 1 Orientation an instructor or a TSS (forgot what that stood for, but they do a lot of work around the office and can be very helpful. DO NOT DISRESPECT them) will give a presentation and go over what to expect and expectation of you, sign some paper work, and if the weather is VFR you will go up with your new instructor. After this point you will get a little ground here and there but there is an insane amount of studying you will be doing. If you aren't reading a chapter of the PHAK, AFH, FAR/AIM, POH, etc... something you are doing yourself a disservice. This process will be the norm until you go off to MEI school. MEI school will take 2 weeks for ground school and 2-4 weeks after that to get the flight training in to be eligible for the check ride. Then you sit and wait till you can get a check ride. Finish that up and then you go add on your last two instructor certifications and you are all done. Other Notes ATP tells you it will take between 6-9 months to complete the program. This is not always the case it took me 14 months to go through my program. My delays came from weather in Washington and DPE availability. Check-rides are expensive but that is anywhere you go. ATP does a really good job at keeping gouges on the examiners. If you choose to work for ATP understand a couple of things the hourly rate is tiered, the ground guarantee is not really what they are advertising because of pay period type things, and if you choose to go with tuition reimbursement you are locking yourself in with them until you hit 1500 TT Don't be surprised if you end up being exported a couple of times during your program from my Commercial to CFII I only flew 6 hours out of my home airport because I was In Utah, Arizona, Texas, and Colorado. Out of space but have more to say"
