Reviews
"This place is a private residence, but contains an interesting historical marker. The palatial home was built in 1807 by Norfolk's Dr. William Selden as his 'country residence' and was occupied during the civil war serving as the headquarters for Union / Federalist commanders in the area. Following the war, this house also served as the last location in Norfolk to entertain Robert E Lee as a guest in April of 1870 as he came to visit his friend Dr. Selden who served with him as a surgeon for the Confederate forces. Interesting bit of local history."
