"Didn't do the house tour but walked out to the fort. The path is very country but the destination worth the half mile trek. Just neat to see 414-year old earthworks dug by the Jamestown settlers under the direction of Capt. Smith himself."

John Smith, Chief Powhatan, John Rolfe & Pocahontas and their child Thomas Rolfe all rolled into a neat package. A must visit for history lovers. We have been 3 times and each time discover new. It is certainly one of the oldest with the earthworks dating back to an attempt to build a fort by Captain John Smith in 1609.
