"One of the many historical stops along the James Island Loop Road. I would suggest only driving the road during good weather. It, at best, would take you a few hours. A few pathways to enjoy and a LOT of history. And nature."

"The Travis House no longer stands. It burned down years ago. But there is an info-board where the house once stood. There are grave sites from members of the family. A short dirt path, from the paved loop, takes you out to the graves. Written on the stones, it tells you who is buried, their dates of birth and dates of death. There was a four year old boy who died in 1700. Sad."
